Title: Have you met any famous players?

I met Owais Shah at Lords before a 20/20 and shook his hand and said goodluck. I think he got a 50 in that game aswell lol!

Also met monty who said to my mate... "oh no not another autograph!" :-[

NO mate. It says in the GCCC catalogue that gilly will be making an instore appearence and to go online to find it. But i cannot. Can somebody post a link to help me out?

our club had a training session with andy caddick earlier today, and during a demonstartion on line and length, he bowled 6 balls to me, two of which i hit, however i missed 3 and edged one, and it acually chipped my bat! i will post pics tomorrow!

Also Simon Katich, Brendan Julian, Jo Angel, Vikram Solanki, Kabir Ali (kept to him in grade games) and Stephen Moore.....all at Midland Guildford CC my home club...and against Arul Suppaih in Devon League

we went to old trafford test in 2007 and were in members pavilion and spoke to jimmy adams, and the england players went past going for there lunch and this guy who i play with shouted to vaughan that we were from yorkshire and had come to manchester on a 'fredalo' on the canal, pietersen pissed himself when that got shouted out

Post by: sultanofswing on February 21, 2009, 02:22:20 PM: Theres a lot of clubs around skipton, theres two in the town and then loads of villages. Theres Skipton Cricket Club and Skipton Church Institute Cricket Club. I play for Skipton CC aswell as being 2nd Team Vice-Captain and Hon.Secretary!

Both clubs grounds are next too each other near to the train station if you know where that is

Then some commentators like ian ward was round the back of the riverside at the media bit having a fag so got nasser, nick knight and bumble to come and talk to us. Only one who wouldnt was bob willis who was a right miserable (No Swearing Please) who gave me some very very nice words at the end ::) also saw monty and colly in the metro centre who seemed canny. Harmy is probably the most genuine and just nicest person ive met, as were ian ward and phil mustard.

In the end we rented a car of him and his wife on holiday in Barbados. Rob Key who made me run around after him and get fags in the championship game at scarborough last year

had photos and autographs with Stephen Fleming Tyron Henderson Mathew Hoggard and Justin Langer

all of that at the HK sixes.

and last year met vaughn, pieterson, collingwood and flintoff at headingley while they were training (couldn't do any net bowling tho :( )

he was bowling medos/leggies

also have played with steve rixon, geoff 'henry' lawson and have spoken to dennis lillee, stuey macgill, warnie (i asked him what it was like to get out for 99) and phil jaques, he's another top guy, really friendly, answered all my questions, i hope he one day gets the chance to play for australia again cause he really deserves it

and have seen Dawid Malan picking out some bats and him and neil Dexter working on the bowling machine, in the indoor middlesex acdemy

Met Shaun Udal along the line somewhere too but can't quite remember where. Haven't been to many matches as I'd like to have though :(

Post by: scuudz on June 17, 2009, 05:17:05 PM: Met Rahul Dravid and Alex Tait, both at the Mumbai airport on different occassions. Dravid was on my flight from Bangalore to Mumbai a few days before the squad was leaving for a tour of South Africa(this was a few years ago). Said "good luck with the tour", he said thanks and we lost the series as usual back then.

Met Alex Tait and didnt know who he was. He was named as a replacement for an injured Kiwi player. The rest of the squad was already in India. Only realized who he was when I saw his pic in the papers the next day haha.

Also played and have been coached by Dunu Eliaba (most of you might not know him) but he played first class cricket in NZ and plays/played international cricket for the Cook Islands. He played in their World Cup qualifiers in 2007/08.

Post by: eaowbear on June 18, 2009, 08:26:15 AM: Bit of a tangent but have played cricket with some professional footballers - Steve Ogrizovic (Cov City) and Stewart Robson (Arsenal) at Cov & North Warwicks in my younger days and have never met a more committed player than Oggy - blooming useful bowler too. Both top chaps!

As you can imagine the crowds were unbelievable.. I have 3 older sisters who had a major crush on Kapil Dev at the time.. They decide it was a good idea for them to send me on to the field and meet Kapil, so as any good young brother would do I some how past the security guards unnoticed.. Soon as I hit the ground I ran full speed when a wicket was taken I believe it was Sunil Gavaskar who was walking out and thought I was running towards him but I ran past him and went to Kapil and I was so start strucked that I insisted on staying on the field with him.. He was really cool, he told the security guards to go back and told me to stand behind him for the next ball I think he was standing at square leg or something.. After that delivery he promised I'd get to play with him and I believed it and I came back into the standings... When my parents found out what my older sisters made me do.. they got in some trouble.. LoL.. And my stupid coach made me run laps at my next lesson cause I interrupted the match.. He was an a**hole.. One of the highlights in my life...

He was fielding on the boundary in a charity match and between overs would come and sit with me and my mate and have a good old chin wag! Met Dinesh Mongia and Harbhajan Singh. Went to the charity shield with Ashish Nehra a couple of seasons ago when he had a foot injury. Very nice guy
