Had our 1st sample through with the new willow for this season. All bats are now UK sourced and manufactured and of high quality. Thought I would upload one of the samples we had to see what people thought of the shape etc......

Looks a top bat with a great profile :) Is it just me or does the spine of the bat in the last picture look wonky or of centre?
-
Bat looks pretty damn nice to me - great profile and clean grains, you will not have any trouble shifting them if theyr'e anything like that one!
-
I think that mat be the lines of the sofa and the slight tilted angle?
We would have to see the bat on a flat surface to judge I think?
And bat looks really nice - very smooth profile. And looks like great willow!
What weight is that?
And what bat labels will you be using in 2010? Have you designed a new set, or are you sticking to the 2009 sets?
-
I hate the octopus grip though, cheapens the bat.
-
What grade is this?
-
looks like some luch willow - how much are they going for?
-
Thanks for the feedback chaps...It's just my shoddy photography skills I'm afraid! its central prob due to leaning on the sofa and taking the pic on a slight angle.
This bats 2.13 without a grip just to give you an idea of weigh vs size. Hoping to get a few more to look at later on in the week which I may have the muscles to lift and swing (not that this one picks up particulary heavy!!).
Looking at the stickers now may stick with the 09 ones and give them a glossier finish as popped to see our printers yesterday about them (as well as a few other bits)...Shilly only grip i had in the flat im afraid to see what it would come in at with the grip on (2.147).
-
Walshy- would hope its grade one but im no expert on grading...goes well off the bat mallet though!!!
Prices will be the same as on our website currently (even though will prices have risen apparently).
Elite- £180.00
Premier- £150.00
Club- £120.00
-
Looks a very good stick Tom.
-
I love those clefts, in general great performers
Glad you went English made to keep the UK bat making economy ticking over
I thought you may have gone down the slightly different profile shape route based on your helmets
-
Norb
Can only try to be differnet in so many areas otherwise people will think your too "radical" haha.
If only we could find someone to make soft goods in the UK for under £60 a pair of gloves and pads at cost price!
I cant devote too much time to bat design as i wouldnt know where to start, Best left to the professionals such as yourself!
-
Best left to the professionals such as yourself!
Blimey I might have to give the Cider :-)
-
As long as its Exhibition from the Corry Tap :-) 9.5% a half!
-
Got to change with the times Norb, if amateurs drink cider then as a professional it's only fitting that your new tipple should be cider brandy.......http://www.ciderbrandy.co.uk/shop.html
-
9.5% - thats strong, very strong......but not as strong as this http://www.brewdog.com/tactical_nuclear_penguin.php - happy days!
-
Sorry for littering your bat post with blatant advertisments for different drinks companies........i promise i'll stop now!
-
Looks good. Will you offer kids bats?
-
Sign me up for the Nuclear Penguin...brilliant stuff, gr8 website as well lol! 32% a bottle that'll put hairs on your palms let alone chest!!!!
Ash yes will cater for the 4,5,6 and Harrow market too

Will your youth range of bats also be UK made and sourced here in England.
-
Yes...... if he can provide them (I havent asked our manufacturer yet!!!) but will speak to him shortly and clarify for definate.
-
think you should let us design some new stickers for you
-
If you want to give it a bash I'm happy to view what you come up with!
-
nice one, ive not got much else to do so why not! where can i find the logo? looked on websie but cud only find the spinning one on the homepage!
-
I'll upload a couple when photobucket is back online as it seems to have crashed at the moment!
-
Can I have that bat ;)
-
i have found one somewhere lol, done some prototypes in a comic book style, thinking outside the box ;) not finished article but be intersting to see what you make of them. have emailed one to your tom@ayrtek account
-
Ok mate not got anything through yet but will have a look
-
I would have a go at designing one, but paint is my only option on my laptop lol
-
i did mine on paint lol, got a few shapes off publisher tho... redisigned my clubs badge on paint aswell, amazing what you can do with time and effort!
-
Bit different.....running with the red/white theme kind of reminds me of the channel 4 numebr when its made up of the straw bails/telegrpah poles etc!
-
haha bit different ;) yeah got to be red and white
-
Mr Cricket, be nice to see what you came up with...? Upload to PB if possible!
-
got an idea on paint, not that good though lol, anyone got any free programs I could use for designing?
-
idea for front sticker, bit ropey but early days!
-
i like it.
-
Agreed think that can really work.
-
yeah i drew it up with a dark, matte style finish in mind, thanks for the feedback!
-
How do you upload pictures, always have struggled. Just want your thoughts really :)
-
upload to photobucket or any other image hosting site, right click, copy image location then come on the forum click reply on a topic you want the photo on, click the insert image button and paste the image location from earlier in between the img brackets
-
Needs some work, but you get the idea.......

Cheers Mr Cricket, if it works :P
-
Good again, although I wouldnt have the AYRTEK against a white background (if at all).
-
it has worked! designs look good aswell
-
Yeah it's just hard to change it on paint lol, if I could I'd have the background see through so it was just the writing.
It's just hard to come up with a new design.
-
where did you get the ayrtek logo from colesy? i couldnt find it anywhere!
-
AYRTEK was off the website and I cut the Ayrtek logo from a picture
-
I got the picture of the pink helmet from the gallery, saved the picture, opened in paint, cut the logo and pasted it onto my design.
-

-
Ahhhhh, we have a taoist on the forum! Too many logos for me I'm afraid- stars, the aytrek logo and the taijutu - makes it feel a little cluttered in my opinion. Better than anything i could do mind you - what programme you using again, paint?
-
yeah its the symbolism about different forces combining etc. that made me think of it, using paint yes
-

Took so long I can't be bothered to do anymore lol
-
where did ya get the bat outlines?
-
I got them off a previous post, I'll PM them to you
-
Simple, but very effective. Goes with the whole smooth theme of the helmets I reckon. Nice work Colesy.

Cheers mate :)
-
They are nice, but i don't think they're half as good as the current ones.. current ones are much more modern and orginal.

Anyone got any decent programs to design stuff a la paint but better?
-
GIMP is just like photoshop, but free! :-)
-
I'm not sure I should try a program called 'GIMP' :P
-
Lol, it stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program.
See for yourself:
www.gimp.org
-
I love the founders of the company! Lol
-
Come on Colsey Bring out the GIMP!
-
Lol, figuring out how to do a straight line!!
-
Back on topic I have taken delivery of another 10 bats all G1 willow and of the same style as the sample pictured they range from 2.9-2.14 (with a grip on them).
All have cracking straight grains and will be stiickered up shortly (tweaking our stickers this week)....if anyone is interested to have 1st pick of the bunch give me a PM and ill sort out some pics.

Quick pic of the bats not the best as was on my phone! the bat on far left is a harrow rest are all SH
-
4th and 5th from the right are nice
-
Yeah some belters mate some have alot of grains on them will take some better pics of the faces in a bit to put up!
-
Don't think you'll have any problems shifting these. Maybe even Beech will cough up for one!
-
haha hopefully people will want to buy them...seeing as they are made by Newly Formed WillowBaron the should perform as well as look good! Mr T has assured me they are going to score me at least 52 runs in the first game this year!!!!
After the sad demise of old faithful in the nets after 5 balls i dont feel as bad using one of ours now to replace her.
-
Lol, no need for me to get a Newbery next then. Another Ayrtek please lol. (Knowing me it'll be around August) :P

Few better pics as i dug out the digi cam! Profile show the slight bow in the model/style and the face pic the grains :-)
-
Profile reminds me of the Black Cat Shadow, nice grains, lovely profile and seems like a reasonable price.
-
looks lovely!!
-
Tom yeah we have stuck to the same shape as our elite mOdel that we did for the 2009 season with the spine running down to the toe
-
Sample stickers are being knocked up for collection for tuesday will see what they turn out like toying with the colours still though at the moment and what to use!
-
That bat looks better than quite a few I've seen!
-
Yeh nice willow TBH just got to sell them now :) stickers are being sampled for this week so hoping they turn out ok as well for the 2010 season version.
