I bet he's a right laugh on a night out
-
given he was in a bat factory I would have thought he could have been a bit ore enthusiastic about the product.

Very Forest Gumpian statements by young Quinton. He needs the big-brotherly influence of Dale Steyn.

I'm glad I'm not his bat sponsor !
If woods just wood then ill 'hand craft' him a bat that weighs 8lb6oz with 30mm spine , 2mm edges , made from crap crack willow . I'll shape the bat with a machete . Sure , he'll still probably make a test century in 80 balls with it , but hopefully he won't think its all the same then , and may show some more appreciation for his bats and bat making in general .
What a De Kock !

Looks like a good bloke to have in the dressing room :o
Agree with above though. Surely even if you're not into bats he could at least pay a compliment to the guys that go out of their way for him. Don't think he mentioned that they look after him well or the fact it's nice gear once.
Mind you I know what he means about pads, try to wear them to death :D

I also would use any of the bats sent to a world class batsman with a sensational sponsor.
To him they are definitely all "just wood"
However I'm not sure he'd think the same if he had to rummage through the bargain bin at Tony Pryce end of season sale.
That's where the art of spotting and appreciating willow is finessed, he's missed the search for Excalibur that still drives me to this day
His life is empty

That's where you're going wrong, no amount of oil will save a bat that's been languishing at the bottom of a lake for centuries.

de Kock loves oiling his wood. Oil makes the difference to de Kock. Doesn't matter how i try to write this I feel silly.

BORING!!!

I bet he knows how to please the ladies...

had the pleasure of meeting him as a 19yr old in Australia at the under 19 World Cup and still keep in contact, absolute legend and even better on the drink, One of the most genuine international players i have ever met. Fact we still keep in contact shows that

A lady is a lady...
Wonder if he oils them too?
