If woods just wood then ill 'hand craft' him a bat that weighs 8lb6oz with 30mm spine , 2mm edges , made from crap crack willow . I'll shape the bat with a machete . Sure , he'll still probably make a test century in 80 balls with it , but hopefully he won't think its all the same then , and may show some more appreciation for his bats and bat making in general .

Agree with above though. Surely even if you're not into bats he could at least pay a compliment to the guys that go out of their way for him. Don't think he mentioned that they look after him well or the fact it's nice gear once.
