Cut a squash ball in half and put it in the palm of your glove.

Have you tried it?

Oh come on - how can I not? :o

I would suggest that a strong bottom hand is an advantage if you live alone.
-
Haha but a soft left maks it feel you live with someone :D
-
Have you tried it?
Yeah. I went through a faze of strangling the bat with my bottom hand, causing the face to close on almost every shot I played. Added the half squash ball (fill the middle with issue paper) and was hitting the ball a lot cleaner. Still add it again if I feel like I'm struggling sometimes

You could add tape under the grip to where your bottom hand holds the handle as someone who also has a strong bottom hand i use a relaxed thumb and index finger grip.

I use an extra half grip to try and avoid strangling the bat.
Still very bottom handed though... :-[
(Just looking for cheap squash balls on eBay!) Cut a squash ball in half and put it in the palm of your glove.
Which way round do you put it?
-
Used to do this. Tried alsorts. Never scored many runs
I then embraced it, changed my game to revolve around hard hitting, going aerial etc. Now score lots of runs........ Sometimes

Ive tried half grips i may have to try the squash ball
-
Is it not uncomfortable?

@Jones129 , try holding the handle with thumb and index finger only as advised by AB: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TGNYND9cVw (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TGNYND9cVw)

I put it so the outside of the ball faces outwards so it doesn't damange the glove palm, you do have to put something like toilet roll in the middle to stop it hurting your hand though @WalkingWicket37
Not uncomfortable at all @Jones129 although does take a little while to get used to.

Practice playing in the nets top hand only for a while. Grove in your drives until your forearm hurts. Add bottom hand. Done.
Did this with a coach at lords. Tripled my average since then! (For the record im not a batsman so its not a ridiculous 60+ average. Try 16-20 :D )

Good tips here lads- an easy one if you pick the bat up as normal look if your bottom hand is right near the shoulders of the bat or a long way from the top hand. If it is move the bottom hand up a bit
Easy to practice in the nets this one, if the bottom hand is up a bit it's a bit easier to work together.
Bit harder but make sure your left foot(right hander) is not planted across to the offside and you can get the bat thru straight-common for right handers to try to get at the ball around the front pad.
Gawd knows I've tried to cure this myself for...well ages.... :)

Use a very oval handle. You won't be able to grip bottom hand tightly at all..

This is what I do (above) - a very loose grip with thumb and forefinger. When you need to add power from the right hand (eg a pull shot) it will be quite natural to tighten the right hand grip. I tell my under 11s and under 13s to do this. Hopefully, one day they will try it!
Good luck,
David

Good tips guys will try a few things out in the winter nets. Ive tried the thumb and index finger way but old habits come in after a while.

I find the opposite. Big oval encourages bottom hand biffing... though I think the thumb and forefinger advice is better than compensating with the bat. That said, I do feel sausage finger gloves help encourage *proper* technique as they are a bit stiffer and help support the fingers of the bottom hand better in a looser grip
Interesting..I find that with oval handle, I can't hold the bottom hand beyond the thumb and first finger while with a round handle, i am able to hold with all the fingers..So oval handle definitely helped me to hold with only two fingers on bottom hand...

Also tried many oval handles and having small hands find that the bottom hand is forced off the bat handle.
Have seen it happen to others as well
Also find that with the saugage finger gloves you get a looser bottom hand grip.
