Welcome to Neon our new sponsor, from an established member...
@Neon Cricket
-
Congrats like the look of your kit from what I have seen on FB

Thanks @Buzz, much appreciated - about time I got involved officially, looking forward to it!

Thanks for sponsoring.
I look forward to seeing what you sell.
Do you have a link to your website (or is it just via social media)?

Good website, good bats!
-
I'm sure you'll have someone do a nice review of your gloves and a bat as soon as they receive them! :)
#GuessWhoPreOrdered ;)

And pads :D once I’ve ordered

Thanks chaps, all feedback is very much appreciated!
I'll create a new thread this evening, but as @WalkingWicket37 says the softs are due in early Dec. They're available to pre-order now, and I might even be able to extend a special offer for anyone interested so keep an eye out ;)
-
The softs look very classy from the social media posts I've seen.
And as I said on there. I'm waiting for the sausage gloves. Definately sale right here if you decide to go that route.
-
Thanks @smilley792 - whilst I don't have sausage gloves on order at the moment, there's no reason I can't arrange for a few pairs to be added on!

I really like the look of the stickers, simple yet effective. I think they would look better being block colour rather than transparent, but other than that, great work.
-
Thanks @hit4six, simple was most definitely the plan!
Incidentally they weren't originally meant to be transparent, it was actually my own fault for ordering the wrong type of vinyl on the first run of samples which I'd had made up just to check sizing. Having had them in the flesh I grew quite fond of the grains underneath which is the reason for sticking with it! I know @velvetsky01 was a fan when he saw them in the flesh (and subsequently became the owner of the hulk of a bat he put up on here!).

Good evening
Any chance your going to the southern net?
Would be nice to try the softs?
-
Oh what fabulous news well done Adam on becoming a sponsor- I knew you were planning on but you didn't have to wait until my birthday to do it!
Yes the stickers are fabulous I Love that they transparent slightly to see the grains underneath. So much so I had to take them off to make sure the parts of the bat where they are they are the same as the whole bat lol
The Neon Orange really is an impressive bat and I cannot wait to use it - trying hard to get it ready for a few throw downs at the CBF nets but it is proving tricky with a 7 month old to entertain lol
Congratulations again Adam can't wait for plenty of @Neon Cricket content now

Ok, first time in a long time that i’ve Seen a starter brand that i really liked the look of as much as your gear. I think i might have borrowed your bat at one of the oval nets a few years ago.
I have to say your softs look the business an i like the simplicity of your bat range identification.
It may pay to do a bit more work on your web (i assume this is the main source of Promotional material) but keeping it simple and to the point is not bad thing.
The only other thing that i personally am interested in is the why... why neon... why buy into you and your brand. Yep, I get the whole fresh approach, quality etc etc etc but something that gets me interested is why you are interested.... Personally, when it comes to buying products from start ups, i like to connect to the reason for existence.. and generally there is a personalisation that gets you hooked in... maybe finding a way to bring your story to life (without documenting war and piece) might help people connect to the brand.... as well as give you material to leverage when it comes to marketing / PR and general brand development.
Great stuff though, super impressed when people actually put their intentions into action the way you have... good luck

Hi @Northern monkey - sadly can't make this net (at the NFL!) however I'll certainly be in attendance at the next one and will of course bring the softs with me which you're more than welcome to put to the test!

Great question @Boondougal! When I started Neon the first time the aim was to start a brand which was about more than just sales. With my connections through the universities I was in contact with a large majority of the other uni club captains from across the country. Initially this was for market research during my dissertation, however this ultimately lead to the choice to go down the bright coloured/pink route and actually give the brand a go. The name itself was never planned as Neon (I think I played about with Wolf at one point - glad I avoided that!!), it just sort of all fell into place as I worked on the project - being as I was using Neon colours it just made perfect sense (fairly sure it was a drunken lightbulb moment too...).
As for the current incarnation, it's very much the same again in that the sales are just a side track to the company as a whole. So long as it's self sufficient I'm pleased - I'm not doing it to make millions (I wouldn't be doing a cricket brand if so!), or to give up the day job. I'm just doing it so that I have an outlet for something I truly am passionate about, and in turn hopefully will be able to bring some level of pleasure to others (@FattusCattus don't, please) - from the first time I saw one of my bats being used by a member of the opposition without my prior knowledge, it's had me hooked. I'm one of those truly quite sad people in life that struggles to switch off, and this gives me that outlet to spend many hours poured into.
Anyway, less about me, as for Neon itself I'm just planning to run a genuine brand, which cares for its customers and provides a great service. I'm honest about everything I do, and hopefully that'll rub off on anyone who gets involved over the coming months/years! Plus it also gives me an outlet for my creative side - the civil service isn't the most glamorous place for a project manager! haha
Thanks for your kind comments though, it really does mean a lot after the time spent getting things going (and as for the website, I'm currently building an in-house photo-booth/studio to sort the continuity of the pictures out - but that'll be for another thread once it's progressed a bit more!!).
