Following on from @Northern monkey on Facebook earlier this evening. I don't know if this has been done before, but I'd be really interested to know where Forumites play, and what your ground looks like (on a good day I mean, not buried under 6 inches of snow!). This photo is where I play, Long Melford CC, in Suffolk.

Watlington cc
And Exford cc now and then,(400 mile round trip to play!)

Look at that grass, some dedicated groundsmen!
This is the best shot I could find online of ours, I play for Uni of Bristol Staff CC:

Not the best of pictures but our big Aussie with his first visit to Hartlepool Power Station CC a couple of years ago, faced with a typical northern spring day! You can just about see the power station in the background. Surely one of the more unusual settings!
-
Northern, Edge - looking lovely. Scott mate, mate, mate, there's nothing wrong with a ground that only a mother could love. :) Awesome photo, how long did the Big Aussie stick around?

Just by chance we just had this pulled together to accompany some sponsorship letters
Kilve is on the coast in West Somerset (on the way to Minehead)

Stayed about a full season then, and about 12 weeks last season. Top bloke and helped a few of the lads out a lot, definite advocate of an overseas man at the club.

Nice, nice, but you lot would struggle to adapt at Risby. Changing in the back of a Ford Transit. :)

Dunmow CC on a warm sunny day...
Nice one Kez, lovely. Dunmow in Essex? Our 1s play you in Two Counties sometimes I think.

Oh don't worry, i grew up playing in Lancashire, horrible dark changing rooms which flooded, barely enough room to fit 2 people in let alone 11. I think a few of the Aussie's would struggle though!

Nice pictures, guys!
When I visit England, can I play with your club? :)

Dunmow near Chelmsford ?
-
@Canners @JKLewis correct Essex and north of Chelmsford. Yeah we get to play Melford again this year, always plenty of runs scored at your place. Yet to play there though!

We're always looking to fill our sides bud, especially during the school holidays! But it would need to be a Sunday I think as players have to be registered for Saturday league games.

Ah cool I have a mate that lives in dunmow and always says he fancies a game as he lives right near the ground.
I’ve just moved to Colchester, so will be joining a team round here

No mate! You need to get out of Essex at the weekends! Come up to Suffolk for the nice grounds and hard tracks and excellent teas! :)
-
@Canners he is more than welcome! As is anyone else. Indoor nets tonight if he fancies it?
-
Ah thanks, if I wasn’t currently dying with a chest infection I would be there. I have noticed the grounds around these parts north Essex/Suffolk do look lovely.

We have indoor nets at Bury St Edmunds, 6-8pm on Thursday 22nd and 29th. Then after Easter - weather permitting - we get to practice outdoors! :) You'd be very welcome.

Chertsey CC - 'The Home of Cricket' - Surrey championship. Lovely, secluded ground near the middle of town.

In Surrey the roller is a serious business.

Batters paradise :D

Looks beautiful

The bouncy castle for the kiddo's is a nice touch too. Is that there every home game or just some family days? Not a bad turn out!

I was thinking exactly the same. Lovely looking ground, and all cricket matches look great with a few spectators. It's funny, we re-did our bar over the winter to try and bring a few more people in, but I think a bouncy castle is an even better idea!

I play for Putney CC - here's a drone video of our ground https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2UhzGQUV88 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2UhzGQUV88)
My old club Panteg CC had a much nicer ground but was less well run. Putney is brilliantly run (by the members, for the members) which makes up for the less luxurious surroundings ;)

Love the TMS theme tune over the top :D

Nice one with the music Rich, lovely. The season is nearly here! Bit of a greentop over in Putney then? I used to live and play in Chiswick, for Turnham Green as was, now Chiswick CC.
-
Yeah we play on common land so there’s a limit to what we can do with the ground. It tends to favour the seamers...

Lovely! I could easily imagine enjoying a G&T or 3 at the boundary rope.

Chiswick are in our division , or were I think they got relegated last year to div 2, I've played at your old ground for many years. Knew most of the Turnham Green old team. John Brown used to play there, older now of course but sharp in his heyday.so I'm told, only didn't make it to the first team (he played windies A I believe) because he did not like the dicipline involved.
The ground is undergoing some improvements with new changing rooms and a new bar area.looks a lot better than it did back in the day.

Thanks for that @mohawks94 , a very inspiring video! Definitely deserves a wider audience. Nice to see such a well used square too, you must have a team working tremendously hard on that. Chapeau!

Thanks @ppccopener . John Brown, there's a blast from the past! Rapid. Properly rapid in his day, but yeah, a little wayward off the field from time to time. The club is now chaired by an old mate of mine, Bernard Hughes, who has worked extremely hard with his Committee in recent years and has made huge improvements. TGCC merged with Polytechnic from up the road, they became Chiswick CC and then actually took over the lease on the ground and clubhouse (The old Fullers Brewery ground). They put out 4 sides some days, which is amazing. Show's what a group of dedicated people can achieve.

I think Dave won Sussex groundsman of the year. He's also women's head coach/manager, does both the squares at Ansty.

Kidmore End CC TVL 2, closest thing to a county ground you'll find IMO, glass outfield and a square like the M25. Batters paradise.

No, because you seem a bit of a misery and like to complain a lot - you would taint the ceaseless happy vibes of my team.

Always enjoyed playing at Kidmore - many many moons ago - i presume the Sheldon's are still doing the ground?
