Who will win IPL 2018
-
Who cares?

Who ever pays the bcci and umpires most?
-
Who ever pays the bcci and umpires most?
:D
-
I watched an episode of the IPL once.
Never again
-
I know the IPL has had it's issues in the past, but believe me there are far more corrupt tournaments out there than the IPL.
The money around the competition has made it far less appealing to fixers in recent years. Try convincing Mitchell Starc to risk losing his £700,000 payday to throw a few No Balls. Then try convincing Daryl Mitchell to risk his £700 a week payday to throw a few No Balls. See where you get more success
(names mentioned with no accusations. as far as I am aware, both are clean players. One does reverse it quite a lot though it seems ;) )

Game one of the ipl and what a finish!
CSK back and back to winning ways. What a knock from bravo
-
Awesome. CSK came
from nowhere. Whatever some people say you can’t beat IPL for drama and atmosphere
-
Great game and what knock by Dwayne Bravo, I didn't know he had that in him.
-
He’s probably still the best franchise t20 player going around.
mcclenaghan on the other hand is probably one of the worst going around
-

Don't forget Wood
-
Don't forget Wood
Agree - see him getting dropped pretty quick.
-
Plunkett joins DD’s
-
Who cares?
I’m with the above. As an aside, how much have sky paid for it ? They seem to be going all out to drum up interest with the adverts etc..
I don’t hear it talked about at our nets, socials or on our ‘chat’ WhatsApp etc so it’s be interesting to know actual viewing figures in the uk for the price sky are paying. Having actual championship games on live or mor women’s games would be a better use of the funds potentially ?
-
Who cares?
Some of us do.
Just because the majority may not be interested in this tournament. It shoudlnt mean the ones that do have to put up with spam and moaning about it.
There is a solution. Don’t like the ipl. Don’t click on the thread that is about the ipl.
But by all means, if you want a discussion on how it’s a waste of money, no one watches it and sky can spend there money on better coverage of the county championship.
Then make a thread regarding that, and I’m sure many will agree and join in. Me I’d like a work we’re both are televised and can be watched.
There is plenty of room for that thread elsewhere on the forum.

R Ashwin taking the pee...champion off spinner now added some outrageous leg breaks to his armoury. He's got close to 600 wickets in international cricket and he's goes and adds something else. Extraordinary
-
Yawn - same few year after year who the same crap about how rubbish the ipl is. Move on - don’t see people who aren’t interested in the county championship posting crap every year

Just seen him bowl his leggies. Definitely taking the pi$$ - leg spins the hardest art in the game and he’s making it look far too easy
-
52 up in 2.5 overs for kings xi
Kahul Rahul with the runs and ipl fastest fifty.
-
52 up in 2.5 overs for kings xi
Kahul Rahul with the runs and ipl fastest fifty.
That was a crazy knock... and he got out to a dodgy full toss as well!
-
being a bat nerd i notice a fair number of players using bleached williow.
-
Woakes playing for RCB. Mouth watering openers for both team, RCB got QDK and McCullum and KKR with Narine and Lynn.
-
KL Rahul, for my money, is India's best opener. Secondly he's supposedly good mates with Kohli yet he's often the man left out for flat track bully Rohit. I'd gladly have Rahul opening in the England Test side
-
KKR hedging the money on their overseas players. Lynn, Narine, Russell and Johnson not many better than that
-
Narine literally bowling slow seamers
-
Two wickets in two balls for KKR getting rid of De Villiers and Kohli. Both were looking good and about to go big for RCB.
-
Narine batters a 19 ball half century
-
Both Stokes and Buttler out cheaply
-
All the sides this year look evenly matched. Bit different to the previous years where 3/4 teams were obviously stronger than the rest
-
Hyderabad and Tom Moody get their heads screws on correctly, to win these big t20 leagues you need gun bowlers. Sunrisers bowling has everything - Bhuvi is the star bowler for the last two years, Stanlake pure pace, Rashid best spinner around, Shakib legendary all rounder and a decent Indian seamer.
Rajasthan team is unbalanced, too many top order players more capable against seam bowling. Rahane should be batting at 4 as he’s a superb player of spin. Jos should’ve opened with Short.
-
Big Willey signs for CSK as a replacement for K Jadhav. That makes 12 England players at the IPL.
Having not seen many at the competition in the last few seasons, do Indians rate English T20 players more than the English do, or are they cheap...?

Willey the replacement for Santner. Overseas players can't replace Indian players

ECB really needs to do something about a cut off point of some kind for players to go there, I'm not a Yorkie by any means but to lose two players in the space of 4/5 days when the season starts on Friday is an absolute farce; shocking treatment as far as the counties are concerned.
-
If Warner was available, Sunrisers would have been massive favourites. They bought really well in the auction. KKR have a very good first XI but if anyone gets injured, then they don't have replacements.
Kings XI need to drop Yuvi to have any chance. Finch should play for them.
Maxi needs to play well for DD to have a chance.
Mumbai have retained their core and will do well as usual.
CSK looks weak. Raina needs to have a special tournament for them to make the playoffs.
Rajasthan look the weakest of all.
RCB need AB and BMac to fire as their bowling is weak. Should chase every game.
My predictions (Will go badly wrong):
Sunrisers, KKR, DD and Kings XI will make the playoffs. And I am going to pick DD to win this year.
-
Pat cummins out of the ipl now.
So which English man replaces him.........
Also? Amount of injuries and drop outs. Is there too much cricket being played currently for those at the top for he game??
-
Willey the replacement for Santner. Overseas players can't replace Indian players
Ah, my bad. That's how it was portrayed in the news.
Makes sense when you think about it.
-

I read it that cricket Australia withdrew Cummins to manage his workload and that he's not actually injured
-

Just posted what I read.
Said a back strain and he may be out of the tour to England this summer.
Resting him make sense though. He did a lot in the england and sa series

Considering the amount of money on the line English players would have to be rated and they are also cheap!! Days when players were purchased on reputation are gone, mostly. Problem with english players is not all are available or were available in past, also some of your players are not that well suited for Indian pitches whereas players from other countries are now playing Big Bash, PSL, IPL, South African and Bangla leagues so they are more developed/used to dead and lively pitches, English players are held back for whatever reason and same for Indian who only play IPL.

Best place to watch highlights for this?
Download the IPL app on your phone, highlights are available in amongst all the interview crap and its free
-
In recent years though the English players have commanded some huge fees. I believe Stokes was the biggest overseas purchase last edition. Was Archer (soon to be English) one of, if not the most expensive overseas this year? Mills also commanded a fee of over $1 Million last year. To say the English players are cheap is a little misleading and certainly a trend that is changing, Stokes Buttler Woakes Roy Hales Ali Wood all in the mix this year for starters.

Traditionally they have been cheap but there are exceptions as always, for e.g. KP was not cheap. Yes the reputation is changing and players were purchased because the Indians see them as good players.
-
Russell back with a bang after his doping ban. Taking his mate bravo to the cleaners - not many do that
-
What a knock from Russell - 88 of only 36 balls. Poor from curran in the final over
-
Another entertaining game - shockingly poor last over with a massive no ball
-
Excellent knock from Sam billings. An English man turns up at the ipl this year.
Curran with 2 big wickets bit pretty expensive otherwise. Watson throwing toys out when he got out. Calling Curran a pie chucker. Lol
-
Billings doing Billings things.
Got a big future once he works out how to do it for England!
-
KKR should hang their heads in shame, they went all out in the auction to land indias u19 star bowling duo Mavi and Nagakoti, yet the insist on play the absolutely garbage Vinay Kumar. The u19 kids actually bowl quickly as well.
-
Delighted for Billings as well. Boy has unreal skills
Chennai looking a bit handicapped with the injuries to Jadhav and Raina
-
Ish Sodhi joins Rajasthan as replacement for Afghanistan left arm spinner Zakir Khan
-

100% with you on this. I thought first game they might want to save the youngsters from the spotlight. But no justification for continuing to play Vinay Kumar. Rinku Singh should also be dropped for Shubman Gill.
-
Vinay Kumar is the kind of bowler I’d love to face when 17 are needed off the last over. Shocking captaincy
-

Gill was the u19 player of the tournament? But where would he bat, he batted as an opener in the world. KKR have Lynn and Narine freewheeling at the top.
-
Still not over that bowling from Kumar yesterday. Moronic captaincy. How can Kuldeep only bowl 3 aswel? Amazing.
-
Great knock by Billings yesterday, especially as he easily could have lost it when Dhoni got out.
As for KKR they really need to figure out what their side is because Vinay Kumar is awful. When you have India's brightest young stars on the bench that have just won a World Cup it just seems crazy.
Kartik's inexperience as captain also showed hugely yesterday you could see him getting worried and it got to him.
-
Still not over that bowling from Kumar yesterday. Moronic captaincy. How can Kuldeep only bowl 3 aswel? Amazing.
Karthik did have options, he could have gone to Curran as well.
-
Curran bowled the 19th so not strictly true but yeah he should have reshuffled the order to ensure Curran/Kuldeep bowled 4
-
Looking forward to this RR vs DD. Boult getting some swing already
-
D'Arcy Short runs himself out again...
-
Dinesh Karthik is the captain of the Tamil Nadu first team, so if he can't spot which bowlers should be bowling he is instead a moron as it was his home ground
-
Short is the new Inzamam Ul Haq
-
Is this Vaughan's first game in the comm box?
-
Is this Vaughan's first game in the comm box?
Yep
-
A beauty from Boult to get rid of Stokes.
-
An absolute jaffer from Boult.
Maybe speaking prematurely here but think Rajasthan may struggle this IPL. Just look like they're going to struggle to get the balance of their side right although adding Sodhi should help.
First things first, Tripathi should open with Short, Rahane 3, Samson 4, Stokes should be 5, Buttler 6. Samson and maybe even Rahane demoted if they get off to a flier and Buttler/Stokes promoted.
-
One gripe I do have with IPL is the strategic time outs ffs, sooooooo many of them
-
Is this Vaughan's first game in the comm box?
Hopefully his last too
-

All about plugging the sponsors ££££££££ cash is king
-
Delhi need 71 in 6
-
I hate watching these dibbly dobbers bowlers...
-
Great game in prospect today Sunrisers vs Mumbai, two strong sides - fancy Mumbai myself as think they're the best equipped side in the tournament, anyone got any thoughts
-
Hyderabad are far too good for Mumbai. Sunrisers bowling attack is sensational. Mumbai overly reliant on Rohit
-
I worry that Sunrisers batting is a little pedestrian and Warner a big miss.
Opening with Dhawan and Williamson is just not devastating enough IMO. Williamson is a 120 s/r specialist.
Mumbai have a powerpacked side with the Pandya brothers, Lewis, Sharma and gun bowling spearheaded by Bumrah. I fancy Mumbai for this one. Really like the makeup of their side. Should be a classic
-
Bhuvi has the most wickets in the last two ipl's. Also Hyderabad record at home is fantastic. Rashid Khan gives Sunrisers the advantage, Mumbai only have average spinners
-
Bookies are calling it evens for now.
-
Yeah I think it is pretty even overall. Mumbai have more power in their batting lineup, SRH bowling attack is probably fractionally better.
Shoutout to Markande btw who bowled very well first game. Intrigued to see how he gets on today.
-
Two games in and CSK already have to play their home games back in Pune. Ah, cricket and politics.
-

Williamson didn't open in the 1st game - Saha did and Williamson batted 3. There is also the possibility of changing things up now Hales has been in India a while as well and opening with him if they wanted to.
-
Which overseas gets dropped for Hales thogh? Stanlake? Because it's difficult to see them dropping Shakib or Rashid. And KW is captain? I don't think theyll change their side. FWIW I don't rate Saha either
-
Looks like Roy is nailed on for the Drinks Carrier awards at Surrey, although Foakes winter will prove a tough one to beat
-

I didn't say they would change it... merely pointed out it is an option if you don't want Saha or Williamson to open the batting. As you say getting Hales into the side is tough because 3 out of the 4 overseas are pretty much nailed on to play every game.
-
Yup. If it was me I'd drop Williamson for Hales and let Shikha D captain
-
Warner would have opened for srh had he been there.
So what would the xi and other 3 overseas had been had that been the case?
If they decide they need hales to open, merely returning to the team make up they planed with Warner would be the way they’d go.
-
Pretty sure it would have been Williamson dropped for Warner and other 3 overseas the same.
The issue is that Warner was previously SRH Captain, that captaincy then got cascaded down to Williamson thus now making him almost "undroppable"
-
Yup. If it was me I'd drop Williamson for Hales and let Shikha D captain
They won't drop Williamson until they lose a few or he isn't scoring for them.
-
Can I take back what I said about Mumbai? Their team looks awful today. No Hardik
-
No Bhuvi Kumar for Sunrisers. :o
-
Mumbai making hard work of this.
-
Big trouble for Mumbai here with Rashid still having 3 left and Shakib 2 :(
-
Never bought the argument drs takes too long for t20 cricket. Credit to the IPL for introducing it. I’m sure the likes of tendulkar and dravid still protest about it
-
Old man Rashid Khan working his magic again.
Learnt across his 25 years of playing Afghanistan league cricket........
-
Markande 4-23, Sunrisers in trouble 107-5
-
The Fizz comes back to haunt the Sunrisers, 3-24 for the Bangladeshi superstar
-
Big Billy Stanlake wins a thrilling contest
-
T20 Gold
-
Incredible game yesterday, did not fancy SRH to get over the line in the last over.
Anyone got any thoughts how Chinnaswarmy will play today? Was low and slowww last year but heard whispers its better this year.
-
Miller dropped for Finch and this is Finch's seventh team in IPL
-
Good swap that IMO. Like Kings Batting lineup here. Hoping for another good game
-
Would prefer finch to open - then again stops teams opening up with spin
-
200 looks already on the card - looks flat! And some shots being played
-
Oh wow Finch. What a disaster
-
It’s time yuvraj retired and stopped embarrassing himself. 3 wickets in the over - think this game is done and dusted unless Rahul gets a big one
-
Dont think its QUITE done and dusted but Kings certainly in a lot of trouble and need one of these two to go big
-
It’s time yuvraj retired and stopped embarrassing himself. 3 wickets in the over - think this game is done and dusted unless Rahul gets a big one
Yadav bowled really well with some proper gas in RCB's 1st game and has done it again here by the sounds of things.
You are so right about Yuvaj, completely past it.
-
Don't hold your breath on Yuvraj retiring anytime soon. He's already said he wants to carry one after this two deal is concluded. When you're shameless and only care about your bank balance yuvraj won't care what anyone says.
-
KL Rahul looks absolute class and Nair looks to have rediscovered some form after his meltdown after that 300 against England
-
Have to say rubbish shot from Stoinis after hitting that 6
-
So irresponsible from Stoinis yep
-
That is beauty of a ball to dismiss Kohli
-
That’s some ball to get the best white ball player in the world. That’s what the ipl is all about.
17 year old!
-
All down to AB. Poor from kx11, they’ve misfielded quite a bit and should’ve got another 10-15 runs..
The 17 year old’s over is going to be massive
-
How’s dan kristan still getting a gig!
That over was shocking. Half volleys at easy pace.
Chris Morris got to be seething being dropped for him.
Mumbai 84 for 0 of 6!
-
Great fight back by Delhi, getting tonked at 14 rpo in the powerplay but the remaining 14 overs went at a far more respectable 7.85 rpo
Pitch is pretty flat game on chasing 195
-
Drinkers carrier Roy is doing pretty well here!
-
Keep going Delhi
-
Pant is a special talent. Some of them 6s jeeeez
-
Glad to see Roy show his class, some shots from Pant as well, can't believe he's only 20
-
Did pollard dive for the cameras there??
-
Easy stuff from Roy. Quality innings.
-
Incredible chase from delhi, take a bow jason roy
-
Maybe I posted to early.
3 dotballs..... 1 from 1 needed
-
Another great game, magic knock from Roy, great to see him get them over the line
-
What a game. Ipl this season has been entertaining. Just goes to show what happens when you even the sides up a little
-
Not sure why kkr dropped marine down order.
17ball fifty already this tournament and looks.... well as composed as marine will do against the quicks.
Looks all at see coming in later against the slow stuff with men out.
Strange change
-
Bet Rashid Khan hasn't played many T20 games without taking a wicket, that's a rarety today
-
People saying buttler and stokes should bat higher up - Samson showing his talent. Some serious hitting.
Think short will get dropped soon, all at sea on Indian wickets
-
Has yadav been to the bookies? Certainly looks that way today
Samson ends with 92*
Will take some chasing from rcb.
-
RCB are a bunch of clowns for years they've front loaded their batting and it never works. They need only one of QdK/Baz, they need de Grandhomme down the order
-
Unadkat bowling absolute garbage
-
McCullum’s over the hill for me, not good enough any more to make the starting line up. Might do well in the t20 blast for not good enough for the ipl or bbl any more
Buttler might lose the gloves soon too - horror show behind the wickets
Another man over the hill - yuvraj continues to get a game. Probably cost his side the game last match with his 2 misfields.
Gayle in for stonis, can’t understand that move. Gayle also past his best
-
Gayle on the rampage
-
Love seeing another has been Harbhajan getting smashed around
-
Someone want to explain to me the business of 3 digit shirt numbers? I get Gayle 333, but Pant 777, Washington 555, Vijay 888
-
22 ball fifty for the big Jamaican
-
Gayle (past his best) - how I jinxed that!
-
So csk....... look like they will lose this, but Dhoni and bravo still to come. Who knows.
If they do, do we reckon they’ll try david willey opening?
Shane Watson and a start against kkr but minus that they’ve done zip at the top.
-
Dhoni using a SG bat with poorly covered bas gloves. Don’t think spartan will be too happy
-
Kings xi throwing this away.
Dropped Dhoni early. Know the with a poor over. Leaves them needing 19 of the last
-
Another final over finish - what a ipl so far
Kings just about get home. Not sure why jadeja keeps coming in ahead of bravo.
-
Really think this has been the best IPL so far. So many last over finishes which have been genuinely close (not like chasing 29 to win off the last 9 wickets down)
Said it before the tournament but it seems to me like this year will be the most evenly matched. Recruitment has tightened up and this is the result. Come on you Delhi Daredevils!
-
Andre Russell. Enough said.
-
Jinxed it! That was impressive hitting
-
All down to maxi and pant.
Morris struggling with his price tag
-
I would say that's game over for Delhi losing Maxwell unless Morris does something special
-
Narine.... game over.
-
Another good game in prospect today, fancy Mumbai
-
McCullum rightfully has been bench and RCB reinforcing their middle order. Rather surprised Corey Anderson gets selected ahead of Colin de Grandhomme considering Anderson has been injured for a long time
-
Corey Anderson is absolute dirt. Should have been CDG or Moeen as you say. MI set for a huge score here, hope Lewis hangs about
-
95-2 after 10
not bad after being 0-2 after 2 balls
-
Corey Anderson gets the big wicket of Lewis
-
One good ball doesn't make a player... His figures are not amazing and hes still managed to serve up a lot of tripe. Hope Pollard takes a shine to him later :D
-
The flat track bully Rohit Sharma feasting on the Mumbai pancake pitch. This guy is so overrated. No skills when there's any swing or pace in the pitches
-
AB using a sharpie bat
-
It's all on Kohli. Losing ABD is huge for RCB.
-
RCB's team composition is so, so bad
-
Is AB bad luck??? Struggles to get runs under pressure.
Never been part of a World Cup/CT trophy winning SA side or a IPL winning side. He’s played with some greats - probably that DD team in season 1/2 was the strongest ipl side.
Massive fan of his and love watching him bat but can’t be down to bad luck!
-

Problem is batting second after his teams bowlers have gone for runs a plenty (last two matches record run chases for his team ) he tees off from first ball great catch by Stokes in the third match though.
-
RCB's team composition is so, so bad
No wonder Kohli looks animated watching his bowlers
-
Two unchanged sides today which is a rarity. Fancy KKR for this one in a high scoring affair. Really hope Narine goes back to opening the batting too. Something very fun about watching him bat (and bowl)
-
Flat track bully Short really struggling. All at sea against spin
KKR don’t mind him carrying on - leave him in. Costing his side the game by batting so slow. Buttler and stokes in the shed
-
KKR need 161. Poor from RR, Buttler coming in at 6 and not facing enough deliveries
-
Do you know what? I haven’t watched any of it and I can’t really stand it.
Bowlers nightmare! Does that make me weird?
-

Bowlers nightmare! Does that make me weird?
Short answer, yes :D
-
Rajasthan needs to consider dropping D'Arcy Short, he's totally inept against spin, even clueless against Rana who's just a fill in bowler.
They've got Klassen whom can slot in the middle order and thus allowing Buttler to open. Or alternatively get Archer in
-

Ben hasn't been amazing this year but I guess that's what being out of the game for 5 months does to you.
-
No Stokes and Buttler are safe. They aren't being utilised properly. Archer either replaces Short and improves the bowling. Or Short and Laughlin get dropped for Klassen and Archer
-

If it was me I'd look to only make one change and that would be Archer for Laughlin. Bolsters the batting a little (which may take some pressure off Short) and arguably strengthens the bowling too. I'm not a big Klaasen fan but believe he scored runs against India before? Rajasthan main issue is not opening with Tripathi IMO. Such a devastating opener last year randomly demoted this year in favour of Rahane who is a perfect 3/4.
-
Enjoyed this light hearted article from Laughlin today :

Not sure playing with Archer reduces pressure on Short. He's already playing with Stokes and Buttler yet he can't score freely. Klassen can actually play spin
Rajasthan issue it that Unadkat has been crap, the money seems to have gone to his head
-

I'm not saying it will reduce all the pressure but it adds weight to the batting as Laughlin is a bunny and Archer can hit. Ergo fractionally less pressure on Short to perform. He does need to perform though I certainly agree. Been a tough slog for him this tournament so far (as it has for Chris Lynn to be honest too!).
Unadkat has been largely crap, think he obviously overperformed last year and was overpriced in the auction. Maybe the price tag is weighing on him? Also Rajasthan not really having any spinners doesn't help.
The weird thing is, with all these problems we've "identified" or discussed, I still think there is the makings of a very, very good side there conditions permitting. Should have strived to make Jaipur a road
-
RR's issues -
Unadkat is bowling shockingly - for whatever reason he has been awful
No wicket taking spin option - both there spinners are very inexperienced
D'arcy Short - simple as that really, if you can't play spin you are not going to get that far in the IPL
Archer's not been fit - remember that Archer has had a side strain from the PSL so i think that's why he hasn't played - when he is fully fit he will definitely start.
Tripathi batting out of position - why is he batting at 5/6 when he scored a ton of runs opening last year?
As you have said there is a makings of a very good team there. For me a would replace Short with Archer, Tripathi then opens with Rahane. I would replace Laughlin with Ish Sodhi (who has just come in as a replacement player) and that helps the lack of experienced spin. Then change one of the Indian spinners for a Indian batter - not sure who though.
-
Chris Jordan in for Big Billy for the SRH today.
Kings XI unchanged
-
Universe boss Chris Gayle smashing them into the crowd

Gayle on fire!!! Battering Rashid Khan 4 consecutive sixes!
-
Gayle on fire!!! Battering Rashid Khan 4 consecutive sixes!
And to think he only got picked up in final draft round for his base price , then didn't get selected for first couple of games !!!!
-
“It’s not proper cricket! Who cares...not interested etc
T20 blast is better, ipl has ruined county cricket”
Apparently this isn’t entertainment ;).
-
Chris Gale might disagree great hundred
-
Gayle has a record 21 T20 hundreds, second place McCullum has 7. Insane.
-
Can’t really understand that knock from Pandey. Didn’t even attempt to chase that
-
Rajasthan run out of patience with D'Arcy Short and Heinrich Klaasen takes his place. Still no Jofra.
-
Unadkat seems to be the Tymal Mills of this auction. He better enjoy this two year payday as there's no chance he received such a payday again. Bowling pie after pie
-
Stuart Binny bowling lollipops at barely medium pace. Getting destroyed by Watson
-
Looking at the Rajasthan bowling there is no outstanding bowler in their team. They all seem to be just medium pacers.
-
What to on fire
-
Looking at the Rajasthan bowling there is no outstanding bowler in their team. They all seem to be just medium pacers.
Must be desperate for Jofra to overcome his side strain
-
Gopal the leggie has bowled decently 3 wickets. The rest have been buffet
-
Third IPL hundred for the big man from Queensland, superb display of power hitting.
-
RR have done well to restrict to just over 200. Chennai should have got to 220 to 230.
-
RCB v DD No grass on the pitch it's a raging turner.

-
Trent Boult with one of the greatest catches in IPL history to get rid of Kohli
Probably the best IPL catch ever.
-
AB in an hurry 54 off 24 balls.
-
Who was asking when ab last won a rcb a game?
-
Risbah pants inning swas pretty amazing to drag Delhi back from where they were. But
AB de V. Wow. He’s unstoppable when he’s seeing it like that.
-
Who was asking when ab last won a rcb a game?
I actually asked when was the last time AB won a crunch game. I.e semi final or final
Nonetheless amazing knock - do enjoy watching him bat. Pure class

Boult’s got a habit of taking blinders

Wonder how annoying it is for these franchise to get an injury, have the perfect player to replace them in squad, but because of the 4 overseas rules you can’t fit them in.
Referring to srh by the way, hales Warner, dhawan opening could have seen this chased down.......
Currently the slow start has left a lot for Williamson to do.
-
Jofra archer gets his ipl chance for RR.
-
Archer picks up 3 wickets in his final over.
-
Not sure why klassen isn’t opening. Not the greatest player of spin - so surely would struggle in the middle overs.
Sending your 3 overseas one after the other in the middle order has no logic.
Dravid does like giving Indian players a go ahead of overseas
-
Who makes the motorbike like helmets that lots of them are wearing in the IPL? They are bloody awful !
-

I think it's Moonwalker?

Archer has serious wheels #fasttrack

And he as a Yorker that he puts n the right area for each batsman
Can't believe how much they paid for an uncapped player

Klaasen was signed as Smith's replacement as he is actually an excellent player if spin. He was the only one of the South African's that could take it to Kuldeep and Chahal when India toured South Africa earlier this year.
Dravid also isn't the coach anymore
-
Jofra Archer what an incredible talent, potentially a once in a generation player. When you're impressing Australian legend Matthew Hayden, you know you're doing something right. Archer can't play for us for another 4 years, that's a long time...hopefully he doesn't take the t20 path
-

Klassen got those runs in the rain if I recall. Don’t really judge playing wrist spinners when they can’t grip it. We’ll find out how good he is in a couple of games in sub continent conditions
Didn’t realise dravid wasn’t coach - point taken
-
Just cannot see why Yuvraj needs a game? He can't time balls, he is always Breathless. Do tickets sales go up if he is playing? In whole tournament he contributes in 1 game properly, out of 14 league matches.
-
Plunkett with 3 wickets so far
-
Stanlake out of the tournament with a fractured finger.
-
Think we see a big score (175+) chased here :)
-
Pandey's poor form continues
-
Kane Williamson owes Shakib a big apology
-
Welllllllllllllllllll SRH have blown this
-
Not enough runs for SRH. Mumbai should easily chase this down.
-
Not enough runs for SRH. Mumbai should easily chase this down.
Looking like they’ll easily lose.
-
Looking like they’ll easily lose.
With Mumbai's batting line up they should have chased this down. It's been a limp batting display by them. Hardik Pandya has played a poor innings as well.
-
The last 2 games show bowling line ups are far more important than batting line ups.
Pollard looks washed up - surprised mumbai retained him
-
Think we see a big score (175+) chased here :)
road?

Sad to see him play like this. He has been past his prime now since 2yrs of IPL if I can remember correctly.
-
He doesn't look fit at all. Hope to see Manoj Tiwary in for him next game. KingsXI is winning, so maybe they don't want to change.
-
Surely Chennais luck runs out today? Them old joints must be starting to wear thin now
-
CDG in for Woakes for RCB, Tahir in for Faf for CSK. Negi and Harbhajan also playing Suggests pitch will spin
-
Rcb bowling attack is crap!
-
Rcb bowling attack is crap!
Still baffling that Corey Anderson keeps getting picked.
-
Where was CDG....he does bowl you know RCB
Maybe they should pull Nehra from coaching and get him into the squad
-
MSD game changer
-
Couldnt agree more with the comments here. Woakes should come in for Corey for starters and CDG should be a 6th bowling option.
-
With regards RCB. Is it just that Kohli isn't that good a captain and Vettori isn't a very good coach?
-
Virat summed it up in the post match interview his death bowlers have gone for more runs than any other team in the competition
-
Pretty much every year they’ve took the risk on stacking the batting line up and simply hoping to ‘run’ the opposition out the game. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked and they don’t seem to be learning their lesson. They eventually let Gayle go who on the whole was a drain of rescources, but I think this season they couldve probably sacrificed the signing of QdK or one of the many all rounders and instead got just 1 top class bowler and they would’ve stood a better chance.
-
Did RCB retain Starc this year?
-
Srh lose early wickets yet again. But still stick with a similar side.
I presume it’ll be when the ipl is done and qualifying to late that they try something different??
-
Did RCB retain Starc this year?
no, i think he went to KKR but is out injured
stress fracture of back i think
-
Could’ve been all over for SRH had kings 11 taken their chances
-
Anyone watch Tiwarys over then? So bizarre. If I knew how to upload a photograph I would but its the lowest action release I've ever seen
-
Sunrisers need a strong finish here with a few overs to go.
-
Incredible bowling from Mujeeb. Think Tye bowls 2 of the last 4 so think SRH may stutter over the line here. 140 be a good effort
-
Sunrisers again defend a low total.
-
Rashid Khan is a clever bowler
-
Prithvi at 17 years is a real prospect
-
Delhi should be targeting 200 from here.
-
Couldnt agree more. Let's see some MAXWELLBALL now
-
Andre Russell with some lusty blows again!
-
Just how does Sam Billings get a gig at the IPL and Joe Root can't?
-
Sam billings won csk a game early on this year. He’s got a reputation for playing spin well.
Which is the opposite to most England plays and why they’d truggle to get a gig.
Anyway.
Hales gets a game!
Didn’t look very fluid, but made a nice 45 non the less. Not bad to say he’s been on a bench for 3 weeks.
He did seem to struggle a tad against the spin.....
-
AB out for RCB. They brought in Southee to replace him.
-
Stokes one of the biggest flops of the IPL so far - up there with yuvraj - but no one expected yuvraj to do anything.
-
Hoping Willey plays for CSK today. Maybe even Wood too. Really don't think CSK are as good as the table suggests
-
Really glad that SRH finally picked Hales. It was so frustrating to see them benching him and picking others. SRH need strength up the order. It was refreshing to see Hales bat sensibly and not try to hit everything out of the park from ball one. Hopefully they will persist with him and give him a proper go.
-
Watson on the rampage pounding sixes aplenty
-
Rayudu and dhoni in some serious form
Plunkett going at 17rpo - getting smashed around

Boult as well being carted around as well. Dhoni with a 22 ball 50. He's been batting great this tournament.

Boult as well being carted around as well. Dhoni with a 22 ball 50. He's been batting great this tournament.
Still a better performance than plunkett - bowled an over less and still conceded less
-
Glenn Maxwell literally stealing $1m every season. Once again been absolutely garbage. Ponting needs to drop the big show
-
Clearly shows why you need good leaders as captains in cricket. Look at Watson, Dhoni has used his capabilities perfectly well, unlike Kohli. Super man management!
-
Glenn Maxwell literally stealing $1m every season. Once again been absolutely garbage. Ponting needs to drop the big show
I really want to argue with this as I love Maxwell but he just has not fired again really.
-

Plunketts performance yesterday was nothing short of a disgrace. He should not play IPL again for a long, long time
-
Plunketts performance yesterday was nothing short of a disgrace. He should not play IPL again for a long, long time
I assume by that logic Bravo should be tossed to the wayside too??
One swallow does not a summer make!
-
Plunketts performance yesterday was nothing short of a disgrace. He should not play IPL again for a long, long time
Bloody hell, wouldn't want to play for you. I'd be dropped for the season by now! :D
Got to have some credit in the bank from the last two games, no?
-
Plunketts performance yesterday was nothing short of a disgrace. He should not play IPL again for a long, long time
short memory ey, didnt he take 3 for 20 the other day or something similar
-
Hahah wow ruffled some Plunkett fanboy feathers in here!!
His performance in IPL so far reads 3/93. And no contribution with the bat. Hard to justify picking him above Chris Morris who had a fantastic year last year to boot.
-
Bloody hell, wouldn't want to play for you. I'd be dropped for the season by now! :D
Got to have some credit in the bank from the last two games, no?
Also, it's different in elite level sport obviously! With options etc, less room for loyalty and more a cut throat business. In the game that he got 0/24 I think he was the only bowler not to take a wicket. Just all seems very ominous to me and not a player I would continue with
-
Fair, and I understand the IPL is different to the Village Green! ;)
Just comes down to whether you want continuity in your team, or a team where everyone is terrified to do anything lest they screw it up and get dropped. There's a balance to be had, and if you're spending that kind of money on a player you really should give them more leeway than 18 balls.
The 93 runs he's gone for have come from 11 overs, and both the most recent two have been in some damn high scoring games.
Everyone is allowed a bad day, if Kohli scores a duck in the next 3 games are you going to say he's washed up and should never be considered again?
I'm off to kiss my Liam Plunkett poster......
-

Chris Morris has taken 3/143 with an economy of 10.41 in the IPL this year and is currently in South Africa with a back injury.

Haha!
I understand the notions of continuity, pressure, balance of complacency etc within a team but don't feel Plunkett has done enough to warrant being selected again for the foreseeable. Maybe I was a little harsh saying ever haha
Also, "most recent two have been in some damn high scoring games" - his good performance was in a low scoring game was it not, so it's swings and roundabouts. He hasn't done anything previously in IPL to make me think hes got IT which is where your Kohli comparison falls down somewhat. Not a fan. Not an elite level IPL player for me.
-
Chris Morris has taken 3/143 with an economy of 10.41 in the IPL this year and is currently in South Africa with a back injury.
He's also got a few runs with the bat which has been overlooked in your assessment but yeah. Injury is a moot point. I'm not suggesting bringing Morris into the fold now with an injury. Plus, take a look at his record last year in IPL. He has a reputation and some relevant form to believe he will succeed at that level
-
Also, "most recent two have been in some damn high scoring games" - his good performance was in a low scoring game was it not, so it's swings and roundabouts.
His good (best) performance being his first game, so 3 games back.
See what you're saying though, so we'll have to agree to disagree :)
Now, I fear an RCB pasting today. Mumbai look a good side if the Pandya's and Rohit are firing, and with AB missing will be a tough ask for Bangalore.
-
Scrap that, just seen Mumbai's 4 overseas players:
Duminy, Pollard, Cutting and McLeneghan
Now THERE's 4 overrated, terrible overseas players for you!
-

Finally something we agree on haha Mumbai’s overseas contingent is poor. Such a shame as their Indian lot are very strong imo- Pandya Brothers, Bumrah, Sharma even Kishan all more than reasonable. Lewis a big loss for Mumbai today.
-
How could I forget Markande too who’s been great this tournament
-
McClenaghan arguably one of the best overseas bowlers in the IPL in recent years. 63 wickets at 24 hardly the figures of an 'overrated player'. Mumbai have won two IPL's with McClenaghan in the playing XI
-
Not enough from rcb, last 4 overs have been poor. Kohli goes too
-
Bizarre not to send CDH earlier. 24 of the last over to get them to a decent total.
-
Last over of 24 could be crucial at the end.
-
Odds on pollard getting knocked over by the leggie??
-
Bizarre not to send CDH earlier. 24 of the last over to get them to a decent total.
Now here is an underrated player. No idea why RCB are so reluctant to a) bat him higher, b) ever utilise his bowling
-
Wonder if Plunkett plays today :D
-
Buttler 50 off 18 balls inc 6 Sixes
-
Flat pitch and buttler comes into his zone
-
Buttler arrives.
Short finally shows some of the form he showed in big bash.
Still no stokes.
No idea how Munro/Maxwell are still getting chances yet Roy failed twice after his 90 odd and can’t get int side again.
-
Somebody please put Plunkett out of his misery.
Another excellent effort today going wicketless at fractionally over 12 an over despite bowling at new batsmen for the majority of his spells.
Out. Of. His. Depth
-
Unless they suddenly come good in the last half of the IPL, the English contingent has been pretty terrible really! Woakes, Archer the only decent performers?
-
Buttler played well yesterday to be fair but in general the English players have been quite disappointing yeah
-
Unless they suddenly come good in the last half of the IPL, the English contingent has been pretty terrible really! Woakes, Archer the only decent performers?
Roy has a 90 Hales a 40 plus in his one knock
Archer has bowled well Woakes left out by RCB Kholi stated after one loss his death bowlers were going for to many runs.
Buttler the fourth fastest 50 so far and the fastest for his side Stokes could win the catch of the series .
Can't think of much else.
-
We are too quick to judge. It's understandable why Stokes is not replicating last seasons performances. But Archer has been superb. Roy played an amazing innings. Hales got 45 on a difficult surface. And Buttler came to the party last night. Even Plunkett had a great debut, 3 for 17.
-
Don't mention PLUNKETT :@
Also, Stokes has been the most disappointing IMO haha if taking a good catch is his tournament highlight ffs
-
The stats kind of show what I'm saying.
Most Runs: No Englishman in top 20.
Buttler (24), Stokes (30), Roy (41), Billings (45),
Most Wickets is a bit better though
Woakes (14), Archer (17), Plunkett (48)
-
Plunkett (48) hahah
-
Biggest flops so far:
Stokes
Yuvraj
Woakes
Plunkett
C. Anderson
D. Short - painful watching him bat
Gambhir
Feel free to add to the list

How is Manish Pandey a flop? He has played sensibly in a few innings and got some crucial runs.
£1.2m was what was paid for him.
158 runs in 8 games - think I’d want a lot more for that amount. No man of the match performances
-
Gill is player to watch out for. In U19's he looked better and composed than Shaw. Shaw was lacking in footwork against seaming ball whereas Gill looked at ease.
-
These Indian fans are going to see some talent in the next few years Pant, Shaw, Iyer, Gill, Mavi and Nagarkoti are the new golden generation of Indian cricket
-
There's also 17 year old Prithvi
-
Pandya brothers not that old either

And Dhoni will probably make a comeback and play till he's 50

Mitchell johnsons been pretty poor. High economy and no wickets.

Mayank Agarwal just did one of those relay catches and it was quite frankly ridiculous. Relays it almost 15m to the guy running towards him
-
Ben Stokes having a nightmare in IPL 2018, the reigning MVP has a meagre 160 @ 17 and 1 wicket in 20 overs.
-
These Afghan spinners are something else. Firstly Rashid Khan now it's Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Can't wait to see how India cope with these two in Afghanistan's test debut
-
Have RR got any other opener other than D'Arcy Short. He's had a terrible tournament.
-
Last chance saloon for RCB and Moeen finally gets an opportunity
-
And Moeen is batting at 5 blimey
-
More brilliance from Rashid Khan.
-
Another incredible bowling performance by Sunrisers.
-
Buttler got his 3rd fifty in a row opening yesterday. Dude looked unstoppable in the power play.
Strange Moment. Tom Curran called for a front foot no ball. Reply showed he was half and half.
Dig out sent a sub on and they was trying to call for a review on the no ball. Lol
-
That young lad hit a superb 50 today as well
-

Kishan?

Kishan?
Yes mate
-
Yeah I thought he played really well, explosive. Felt for him a little this tournament as he's been shuffled around the order (I expected him to open) so pleased that he has finally impressed with a score. Said it before the tournament started but Mumbai have the best Indian contingent. If they could improve their overseas contingent they would be almost unstoppable. If Lewis catches fire this tournament is theirs for the taking
-
Delhi displaying different levels of crapness. Embarrassing
-
Every single year it's the same with Delhi. Thought they might fix up with Ponting but nah. Same old Delhi. No idea what promoting Harshal is gonna achieve here either
-
Pant might get a few opportunities for India if he sorted out his running between the wicket. Bit ridiculous turning your back on your partner...
-
Devastating 100 by Pant he can certainly smash the ball
-
Pant absolutely taking Bhuvi apart, the best bowler in the recent history of the IPL. Bhuvi literally got no answer
-
Pant is a serious player - enjoy watching him bat. 100 up for the kid
-
128 from 63 for Pant, finishes 4, 4, 6, 6, 6 off Bhuvi. Incredible
-
Pant wow
-
Incredible from pant
They do say when you run a team mate out you have to go in and make a score. And he ran two of his team mates out! Haha

Not seen many better knocks - those shots over 3rd man!

Shame for Pant that his bowlers are pants. SRH cruising to victory

Why do Delhi keep picking Maxwell and Plunkett. They’ve had mates this season.
-
Why do Delhi keep picking Maxwell and Plunkett. They’ve had mates this season.
At least Maxwell has some sort of track record and the ability to win a game on his own. He may only come off 1 in 10 but at least there is a record of it occasionally coming off. Without sounding like a broken record, Plunkett has been utter, utter garbage.
-
His Buttler with his 4thh fifty in a row!! On fire.
Stokes opened. Didn’t fair so well. Few close shaves, inside edges before running passed one for 11.
-

Not on his own though there's been a few from the Uk that's been mediocre
-
Buttler should be branded the king of Rajasthan, epic innings
-
Jos buttler take a bow
-
Top knock from jos.
Can’t see RR winning if he fails though.
Not sure willey will get another game after that. Dhoni looked positively peed off after his last over.
-
KKR pounding Punjab into the dirt in Mohali. Narine with a savage 75 only Tye has shown any skill with the ball. KKR will post plenty in excess of 200
-
KKR pile on 245, Punjab left with their tails between their legs
-
KL Rahul was collaring Narine but the Trini boy had the last laugh. Sensational innings of 66 nonetheless
-
17 year old leg spinner from Nepal looks a damn fine bowler for Delhi
-
KW should just open. He’s usually in early anyway when hales fails
-
Fifth consecutive IPL half century for Jos Buttler, equalling the record set by Virender Sehwag.
-
“Not sure if you are familiar with the game of Cluedo but Buttler did it with the Kookaburra in Mumbai” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
-
Some talent that Joscelyn lad, hope he can beat the record now next time out against a tricky KKR bowling outfit
-
Gayle against his old club today. At Indore (one of the smallest and most batting friendly grounds in India). Against RCB bowling attack. Today could see FIREWORKS
-
17 year old leg spinner from Nepal looks a damn fine bowler for Delhi
Hope hes able to play the last games of the tournament now with no pressure on him. A much better import than Plunkett ;)
-
Disappointing performance from the kings
-
Good to see a clinical performance by RCB
-
Good to see Kohli decide when it’s a low total to chase he’ll open not bat 3/4...#teamplayer
-
Epic collapse by Rajasthan Royals. Slaughtered 68 from the power play against KKR. After 14 overs in total disarray at 107/7. Kuldeep with a masterful spell of slow arm left wrist spin
-
Archer bowling serious wheels up at 149.6kph

-
De gronholm went mad to with some big hits!!
SRH dropped far too many catches there though.
Rashid Khan with the wickets of Kohli, De Villiers and Ali, so basically RCBs actual team......
-
Like Moeens comment : one of life's greatest pleasures batting with AB.
-
Hales caught and not given....... and now dropped.
Dhawan gone.
Hales and Williamson need a decent partnership to continue on this chase here.
-
AB you beauty - what a catch. Love kohli’s reaction
-
Excellent innings from Williamson. Shame he couldn’t go all the way.
Pandey, although batted well, just left a ball with 8 left needing 20 odd. And then tried scooping of back of bat? Leather it man!!
-
Pandey was 6 of 12 balls, bet they’d like those 6 balls back.
Who said KW couldn’t play t20 cricket - recall a few on here saying he should be dropped for hales early on
-

I remember many saying he was only playing cos of the Warner situation.
His teams qualified and he’s second top scorer in the entire ipl........
-
Kane Williamson for consistent performances should win IPL player of 2018
-
I remember many saying he was only playing cos of the Warner situation.
His teams qualified and he’s second top scorer in the entire ipl........
This would 100% have been me haha He has been very good, hands up got this wrong. He's still not my sort of T20 player, he works incredibly well for SRH though in a team that doesn't need to score 170+ regularly to win.
-
Williamson is a brilliant cricketer, beautiful batsman to watch.
Do love that in T20 it takes all sorts - not just some massive chaps trying to smash the back off the ball every delivery. Ball crosses the ropes you get 4 or 6 regardless of whether or not you've used brute force or finesse, so it's good to see different approaches.
-
RCB out. Serial under achievers.
-
Pant is a staggering talent.
-
Maxwell and Boult doing the relay catch at long on twice this game.
Maxwell is a good fielder but what else does he have over ponting to keep getting picked every game?
-
Ponting just picking his mate - even more bizarre was last match where they went with only 3 overseas. Munro or Roy deserved a go
Mumbai looks like their going out unless cutting can do something special.
-
Mumbai are that side you play every year whom rely on plain luck every season
-
Mumbai put out of their misery. Fluking it year after is never a successful method. Rohit Test career over and captaincy shown up as mediocre
-
Don’t think plunkett will be anywhere near the IPL next year - emabarassing that a local bowler is trusted ahead of a international for the final over
-
I'd say Pune choked in the final rather than Rohit's captaincy...if you can chase 130 in the final you should be ashamed
-
Punjab's slim hopes fading fast. They need to beat CSK by 53 runs and they're limping along
-
Punjab all out for 153. Can't see them getting Chennai all out for below 100.
-
Chennai 27-3 and they send harbhajan at 5...yeah not ridiculous
-
Don’t think plunkett will be anywhere near the IPL next year - emabarassing that a local bowler is trusted ahead of a international for the final over
Don't think woakes will be either plus others from the UK.
-
Sunrisers are wilting at the wrong time, their form has evaporated at the business end of the event
-
We've seen SRH defend lower scores than this this tournament.... Never say never. Plus we all know what Dhoni is like. This won't be chased within 15 or something. He makes everything dramatic
-
This game is on. on. on.
-
It certainly is CSK bigs guns nearly all gone Rasid Khan is a bag of tricks.
-
Any idea why faf opened instead of Rayudu? Missed it. Odd decision if it’s not injury related
-
Faf n for Billings leading to a conservative batting change
-
Some throw that by Rasid Khan to dismiss Harjaban.

Masterstoke to send faf opening clearly!

AB just announced his international retirement.
Very shocked that he's done this. I thought he'd wait after next year's world cup.
-
KKR grinding to victory in the elimination match. KKR mustered a below par 169, but Rajasthan minus Buttler had no hope of getting the target.
Unadkat better enjoy his $1.2m pay cheque for IPL 2018 and 2019 as he'll be fortunate to earn another contract after this one expires. Never waste money on a one season fluke job
-
The last few overs from KKR was brilliant death bowling.
-
Can't believe we didn't win. Halfway through I thought it was in the bag!
-
Some performance from Rashid Khan. Turned this game
KKR have messed this one up
-
100 in the final for Watson match winning innings.
-
Should have put a bet on csk with the other 8 of us up there.
Well batted Watson. Looked awful on 1 off 11 balls. But when you get your eye in, you get your eye in.
-
Incredible innings by Watson and CSK historically the best franchise in IPL history they showed their class
-
Masterclass from Shane Watson there. It did make me laugh he couldn’t run so he just hit boundaries. Reminded me of Saturday league cricket
-
Superb innings by Watson. Dhoni yet again proves what a great captain he is.
-
Probably the best IPL to date - best t20 tournament by a mile
-
Lol at whoever voted for Chennai in the poll after they’d won.
-
I had SRH from the start, but it just shows you how much experience counts in T20. Chennai won the big and close games when it mattered.
Definitely the best IPL to date.
-
(No Swearing Please) the IPL.

I generally agree ....but that was a good final , and one of the best limited overs innings ive ever seen by L.B.Watson too.
