Title: GM 909 Prodirect cock up
Post by: Davehugh on September 04, 2018, 06:48:07 PM
I've been eyeing up a GM Neon since i picked up @jamesisapayne Signature at the Kilve vs Custom Bats game back in July time. Took the risk and picked up a 909 in the PDC end of season sale for 180 asked for a medium weight 2.10-2.12 but received a 2.8 shall. My last experience of trying to exchange something with PD was painful (Was a while ago and was football boots) shall i just return and order again or go through the painful exchange process..

What a looker. I’d have been all over that but literally just picked one up over the weekend
(Not as nice but still decent)

I did the same but ordered ‘light’ - got this one which is 2:9.2, which I can live with (seems to ping well)

I might consider a swap though if yours pings also?

It’s a tough one for you... lovely looking but a bit light is perfect for some... but I reckon it’s going back!!!

Superb bats the GM Neon, I have 2 and just picked a 3rd up, just in case they discontinue that range for next season. Longest middle of any bat I’ve owned and the balance is superb.

PDC customer service has been great before but seems like it has really gone down of late.

Also, does anyone know if VAT is to be charged for USA orders? In the past, VAT was removed for USA orders but recently PDC is not doing that. Has any law changed recently that PDC did this change. I contacted PDC several times on this but no response.

I too felt the same. They used to respond within a day maximum until last year. But now it takes weeks to get a response and sometimes they do not respond at all.

I had sent a query sometime back regarding exemption of UK VAT on shipments sent abroad. They responded that VAT will not be charged or refunded in case it gets charged during checkout. But not sure if they are going the Sports Direct way now.

That's utter tripe. Should ask them which legislation this refers to...

Not working on mine

Not working on mine too, I put USA shipping address and checked again today.

Also, checked different sites and I didn't find any new law that says VAT has to be charged outside of EU. Also PDC terms and conditions still says that VAT will be excluded for non EU orders.  Their customer service has really gone down now. Not sure if their management  changed or something recently.

@Davehugh :Sorry to use your thread to discuss the PDC CS issues outside of your specific issue. I should have started a new thread for it instead.

No problem I'm still struggling with PDC phoned up at least 4 times they offered me a free returns postage label (usually you have to pay for returns which is pretty rubbish) and a free delivery and 10% off code all to be sent through via email that predictably didn't arrive they managed to give me the code over the phone so I've ordered another now only waiting for the postage form. Wont be ordering via PDC again in a hurry!

Also, checked different sites and I didn't find any new law that says VAT has to be charged outside of EU.

That's because there hasn't been one, sadly PDC are spouting a load of old rubbish!

You're far better off sticking with a forum retailer if you can, the service provided will be 100 x that of any of the big companies (PDC, Cricket Direct, All Rounder etc)

Yes you shouldn’t be paying VAT on items outside of the EU still. It should geolocate you and knock it off by the postage country or at least it does via my website and I’d imagine theirs cost significantly more to build than mine!
