Just your £700!!!
I do like the shape not keen on the stickers on the back of the bat but the new label on the front is nice
I just cant believe they feel the need to charge so much for their bats now a days
-
That's ridiculous!!! :o
Price hike on the other bats too - I'll get my distinction on eBay and see if anyone will give me 500 quid for it 😂

After taking the £700 they then charge you £8.99 for it to be delivered 😂😂😂
-
Wow £700. That’s outrageous. I am glad I have enough bats to last me next fifty years.
-
Wouldn’t even consider it if it was buy one get one free! Crazy
-
It has been a while since I have seen the branding of a M&H bat that I thought looked good, but that looks particularly disappointing in design.\\I would love to know how many of those M&H are able to shift at that price.
-
Yup. I stocked up on high end bats when they were not priced like this.
Anyhow, you can get outstanding bats for far less these days. MCC size standardization has had at least one benefit for the enthusiasts.
-
They’ve got 19 in stock!!!!
-
Jeeeezzz 350 quid for a jnr bat?????
What planet are they on?
-
Sorry that I have to ask. But do they actually make these?

There are quite a few private schools in Taunton.
-
Yes I know,,, I’m sure they do well from millfield and kings
I suppose fair play to em,,,,, I should pull my finger out and try and compete with em
Unfortunately they have that heritage to bs sales out of unsuspecting customers

I asked the guy in the Burnley shop when they first opened and he admitted to me where the bats were made and it wasn’t at the side of a county ground
-
Could get 2 sharpie pro rejects direct from SS for that money. Didn’t know the price of stickers had gone up that much

No. Not fair play at all!
Although, I suppose, if someone is going to get ripped off...
-
Surely if you were going to be mental and fork out that sort of money you would get the Original (link below) and save yourself 150 quid!! Still £550 though!!

Can't see the heritage model on the new list which is a design they got very right(a retro design!)
Interesting comparing the salix website in design with the SSP of 675 for the pod finite. Just from an aesthetic point of view one brand seems to have put much more into it
-
Ask me to make something similar and you can have 2 top grades for that price and both will come knocked in and Uk made from scratch.

Exactly. And supporting people like you should be what this site is about.
-
M&H still following the 'cricket for the rich' market plan I see...
-
This just stinks of fresh BS:
"...high performance English willow. It features a profile that we're asked to make by the very best players around the world, and is tried and tested at the highest level."
High performance willow? Huh?
The very best players? Who asks you to make it exactly?
Tried and tested at the very highest level? By whom? When? Where?
Just vague marketing spiel to talk up the bat and to try to justify that criminal price.
I used to like M&H. Their heritage, hand crafted bats, and traditipnal branding.
But they jumped the shark a couple of years ago with this BS.
-
You could get 6 GM Signatures for that price. In fact, someone probably has. ;)
-
hmmm ... What does it do?
Will it make me score 500 runs in a T20 game?
-
I've heard their strategy for the Eversley pop-up shop is to "rip off mums" so this kind of pricing is not surprising.
-
Takes me back to the CBF vs Kilve game last summer... Kilve no3 walked out with a very shiny M&H, we had fun sledging and he was very confused! 😂
he did hit a few huge ones with it mind...

Pretty sure you'll find that's just the M&H strategy nationwide!

When parents pay £8-£10k a term to send their children to school a £500-£700 Bat isn’t going to make much of a dent in the bank balance.
It’s a trend thing that the brand has done well to cater for its immediate audience surrounding it.
Are others undervaluing their skill and labour by making from scaratch or would putting a £500 price tag on a bat make it unappealing due to the fact the brand is realatively unheard of?
-
Austerity, eh?

That's just childish behavior. It is because of the "punter" attitude, cricketers don't try new gear. Something as great as Aero leg guards never caught on because they looked funnily and peasantry couldn't stop ridiculing the person using/wearing them.
-
Ok. Good job.
-
‘‘Twas all in good humour mr high horse. They had plenty of opportunity to get their own back when they saw we couldn’t catch... or bowl ... or bat :D it was a great day for all
Hey! Some of us did ok ha
-
All Genuine English Willow is much sought after since Serbian Willow is now widely used.
-
At least not as bad as the 1500 quid rolling stones bat! You can get two F100s and some pads for that.

Rubbish, helmets were ridiculed massively when they were coming in. If a product is good enough it will become accepted, Aero pads are not one of those products.
-
Depends on the helmet. Our 1st XI opening bat had one of the original Ayrtek models but had to shift it on after a barrage of abuse every week about him being on his way to go cycling, canoeing etc.
Most would probably prefer that school yard stuff where a couple of players will try to unsettle a batsman by making him feel uncomfortable about something he is wearing or doing should be clamped down on by umpires but it seems it has gone on since time immemorial
