Given the fact that this season isn’t going to happen (let’s be honest, despite me really wanting it to) what would you have done differently or appreciated more in your last game as it could be a 18 month gap we go through.
I’m very fortunate that my last game of the season we won the league, so on a team level I was delighted being captain too.
Personally, I wish I’d never gone after that dreadful spinner!! 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

We had already won the league so captain, me and another had a couple of pints before the game. We won the toss and we batted, I opened with the captain (highly unusual) I got about 30, captain about 40.
The only thing I wish I had done differently was stay at the pub and drink more. Was a lovely pub with excellent range of ales.
The cross keys at Lydford on Fosse

I've played Lydford a few times over the years. It's a great pub and they always put food on for us after the game.

I played my last game in our 1st team. It was last game of season so due to lack of players got picked in 1st.
It was first proper outing with big boys playing division 1so level and intensity was high and I loved it.
Team got all out quickly me being second highest scorer.
Wish I had scored more.
-
^ I could but I have never played in div 1, I don't think I could put up with the faux "intensity". I'd laugh and prank the team by calling them and pretending to be an IPL recruiter.
What would you have done differently? In the last game of the season, I shouldn't have had a "talk" with my captain before going in to open. I never really accepted what a disaster he had been thru the season. Never again, I say.

I remember my last game pretty fondly - first league game I'd captained for my club, we managed to get rolled for 128 on a road but defended it narrowly. It would be greedy but I would have loved to have batted longer - was seeing it like a football, one of those days where batting just felt easy. Sadly lost focus at the wrong moment and chipped a dodgy slower ball back to the bowler. 56 off 25 and out in the 8th over, what could have been! Not exactly a regret but thought it'd be a good lesson for me to remember this season... maybe for 2021.

Umm, it was a friendly and I batted 11.. Told the oppo's we'd be batting kids and old men so bat first and don't take the mick as we have what batting we have bowling and no actual 'bowlers'... they decided to come out and leather us about...
In hindsight.. shouldn't trust oppos and have batted first and got skittled and gone home. Lesson learnt
easy 24* from jack just using up the overs though to ensure they fielded their full 40 overs.

Oh Eeyore come on.

Must be my age but can’t remember my last game from last year for the life of me. Wish I had concentrated more last season in all the games. Kept getting starts but never pushed on to get that big score didn’t pass 75 but got to between 50-75 4 or 5 time’s
-
We got pumped. They got 340 odd, cheeky 3 fer 60 for me.
Then got 82 but gave it away as I was getting tired. Should have just kept batting but we got 250 in reply.
So more of the same but a win would be nice when we get back out there!

Last game was Sept 2018 and I don't think I'd have done anything differently, for what it's worth I think we will be playing a half season around July onwards...., being in London I love getting out of it to some lovely grounds in the Home Counties.last match was against little marlow in Bucks and a lovely place to play, got about 40 odd and played some decent shots.I could barely run thou and I knew then it wasn't just a badly pulled muscle and something was majorly wrong. From then it was physio for 6 weeks-hospital visits and MRI scans and soon after surgery(as I've probably bored everyone with) and an 18 month recovery period and cricket ruled out forever more by the consultant.
14 months on and today I could semi jog in the park so that's not too bad.The plan is just to play again I don't care who for or at what level(a second opinion said I probably will be able to play again sometime in the future).
It's a great game we all play, even when it gets frustrating id rather be on a cricket field on a Saturday than pretty much anywhere else.

Last season should of got more runs batting and few more wickets bowling.. :o

The last game of the 2019 league season turned out to be my last for my previous club - I didn't know it at the time but a change of job etc... shortly afterwards meant a move across the country to possibly make the longest awaited debut for my new club Wivenhoe CC (same club as @Canners ).
The actual match was a great game where we chased 145, 9 down with a 15 run last wicket stand!

now that sounds like a good game to be involved in.. no one scoring big so every run is hard fought and getting it 9 down with a last partnership is tense and exciting for all involved.

That's pretty much my cricket strategy. :D Win toss, bat first, and go home early if oppo chases the score down.

We had won the league, so it was a fairly relaxed game. Scored a pretty 30 at the old Britannic ground in Moseley before being bowled. Was mentally in the bar. The only part i regret is we went for an all you can eat Indian so the Muslim lads would join the night out, i ate too much and couldn’t sink my beer after.

56, more is just greedy! We played you like the blind XI too, 80-0 to 130 ao. That was painful!
-
If I would of bowled more overs I would of and got taken off in two or three games we lost and was bowling well and they couldn't get me away avg just over 9 overs game ..when max was 15 🥺
-
Wish i would of remembered that the track was more bouncy to what i was used too. and maybe not gone for the big smash over mid off. :(
100 would of been nice.

We won the league in our final game - never thought that we’d be in a position where we could still drop down to fourth even though we’d only lost two games all season. It was a decent match and I don’t think we were in any danger really but I do regret running the captain out and then playing across the line to a straight one on the next ball. Injured/unavailable teammates being on the square leg boundary with a crate of beers was a great ending though.

Stayed for on more beer with the team... :D
