Odds are favoring India but this will be close.
Lets hear some predictions. :D

Weather seems to suggest overcast conditions for this final so you’d immediately put New Zealand as overwhelming favourites. They did hammer India in New Zealand not all long ago in those type of conditions.
India named their team with both Ashwin and Jadeja doesn’t seem the right call especially as the pitch also looked pretty green.
Wouldn’t be surprised if New Zealand won by an innings.

A couple of days back with glorious sunshine and near perfect weather, I would have said India are slight favorites, but now looking at the overcast conditions I think the Kiwi bowlers will prove tough to handle and one bad session might decide the winner (if we have a full game i.e.)

Dont think India has much options in terms of swings bowlers in the squad. Siraj,Umesh,Shardul are good in seaming conditions but not swinging conditions. With Jadeja they are also looking to fortify the batting order so I think its a fair call.

Really hoping for a NZ win - can’t have one of the “big three” win both the ODI as well as Test WC, don’t think that would be good for the game. Plus- who doesn’t love the kiwis?

Wondering what other options were available as a possible venue...looking at neutral locations, I suppose SA, Zim and Aus have winter now so there were not an option (assuming it is off season time in these countries). The only options left would have been Sri Lanka, West Indies and UAE (not considering Pak due to political reasons of course)?

As we are always reminded at these times, England is the only country in the world where it rains. Anywhere else would do!

To be honest England probably is the only place. By accident or design both teams are here, in the hotel/ground arrangement that is the Rose Bowl. Pakistan would be out, there would be no crowd in the West Indies for this I don't think.
It's a real shame with the weather but....were there many other options really? I can see a ball not being bowled in this game and the trophy shared.
Not satisfactory but that's England in the summer!

It’s a tight tussle so far, there could still be an interesting finish despite the weather.
Shami is not alone but if stays fit I see a world of trouble for our line up against him. Decent pace on a full length and moves it.
The fans that have turned up at least got some entertainment.

Well, after reaching 3 finals in the last 3 world cup events, NZ finally wins! This is an impressive victory because of weather delays which kept interrupting the game and players' momentum. Well done, NZ!

WTC concept is all good and well but the execution is clearly off. New Zealand got to the final by winning 3 series at home and they only play 2 match series.
Teams like England, Australia and India actually play longer series.
In the future there shouldn’t be any 2 match series at they distort the points total.
For example England won in South Africa and India won in Australia yet New Zealand minnow bashing West Indies was worth more points. Totally absurd.

And, yet thru sheer grit, determination, and application in poo weather, they managed to beat the most resourceful side in the Cricket world. You are right, NZ didn't belong in the WTC Final.

Yet New Zealand faced West Indies and Pakistan, two of the worse sides in test cricket. Those 4 wins got New Zealand 720pts.
One win in India is worth more than a win over those lesser sides.
There needs to be an overseas multiplier going forward. Away wins should merit 1.5x multiplier.

How would you classify that? Every 4 years? People like you will find a reason (or 12) to whinge about the "multipliers". You are proposing a no-win situation for everyone.
Every cricket boards agreed to the rules before the WTC. It is a pity they didn't ask your opinion.
There needs to be an overseas multiplier going forward. Away wins should merit 1.5x multiplier.
There needs to be a better Covid vaccine. There needs to be a ... Etc. Etc.

2. The BIG 3 agreed on the schedule of ALLLLLLLLLLL Tests series.
3. If the BIG 3 failed in manipulating the "scoring system", they must really suck! Both at score manipulation and TEST cricket!
NZ won, fair and square! Accept it and live with it.

I'd love for NZ to play 5 match series. It's a travesty that Kane Williamson doesn't get to play as much as the likes of Kohli, Smith, Root.
You say that we play Minnows but it seems the Big 3 refuse to play them. We don't want to keep playing Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangaladesh and WI every other year. We have no problem playing them but it seems we either have them touring us or we tour there every year. We can only play who ICC schedule us to play.
We Beat India, England, Australia (In White ball Cricket) all the time. However for NZ to truly be the number 1 test side I believe we need to beat India in India and Australia in Australia otherwise like you've seen on Social media and here people still look down on us.
Anyway, I couldn't be prouder to be a Kiwi right now.
