what do u think?
According to SS, they specially select willow from Grade 1 to make these bats. I would classify these as LE.
the bat Sanakara is using is a Gladiator
-
Asad. . .can you please tell me the handle shape on these bats.
-
Asad bhai if I am not mistaken, most SS bats (Platinum, Gold, Special and Gladiator) have the same Super Grade A sticker on them. So that means all these bats are top of the rack willow (that is if Grade A is for willow grading). If so, then why the price difference on the bats? Also Sangakara is now using bats with a LE or Ranger sticker (at lease used it in in today's match)..... we all know they get/put stickers of models the companies want to promote after all they get paid for this.

As per MCC Law6 and Appendix E - Grade A, B and C is dependent on the materials used in the construction of the bat handle. Grade A and Grade B bats cannot have more then 10% material other than cane, twine etc and the % goes upto 20% for grade C bats. Only Grade A and B bats can be used in first class and above levels.
You certainly have more experience and knowledge then me on the cricket equipment front. Kinldy correct me if I am wrong.
Can any batmaker on the forum share their views on this?

I am not getting into any technical discussion on the grading and have no time for that. I have just passed you the info what SS guys told me.
I asked them to use the best quality grade 1 willow for my Gladiator bats and which is what they have done.
As u r also in selling cricket equipment now on behalf of Lukey sports, i can't say any thing about your bats or if your bats have monograms or not showing what willow have been used.
I don't have more knowledge than you, how can that be possible after all the references u have given in your post. you are trying to relate 2 different things here. These monograms are purely put on to show quality of willow used and they are different to what is on Platinum Reserve.
