Go through a courier company like p4d, or parcel monkey, they insure the item and gets there recorded

I have used P4D and they have been OK but if you put P4D or Parcel Monkey into google and read the reviews then they aren't great. Might be better sticking with the Royal Mail as you could send it standard parcels with £100 compensation for around £6 but it wouldn't be tracked - depending on the Post Office you might be able to send it via Special Delivery but the dimensions are right on the edge of their limits (I think it is 90cm length for rolled items) and some will take it, some won't. If they do you would get £500 compensation and tracking plus next day delivery for around £9. Hope that helps.

Hi there,
Isn't there a length restriction for Royalmail Second class parcel?

85cm I think. If over they use parcel force.

I use myhermes, never had a problem.

Not the cheapest but £11 with the post office gets you tracked, next day by 1pm with £200 insurance.
Make sure it is a medium parcel as a tube.
As for wrapping. Bubble wrap and cardboard...

Agree with the MyHermes.

I sometimes also used DPD local through work.

Never had problems with either

At PRYZM we use DespatchBay - this is then linked through Parcelforce or Yodel if you choose. However I always send it through parcelforce, as you can then take it to your local post office and hand it over the counter, meaning that you don't have to wait in for a collection(and there is a surcharge if they collect less than 4 packages).

Costs around £7+VAT for the courier service for 24hr delivery, but you cannot make one-off payments - so the cheapest amount you can put in your account is £50+VAT.

This service has been superb, within about 5 years of using this service I'm yet to experience a failed delivery, or hear of any real major damage via transportation (touch wood).

Just to add, they also provide the customer receiving the package sms updates and easy rearrange options.

Sorry for reviving an old topic but not sure where else to post.

Looking at selling a couple of bats on here and wasn’t sure what the best place to post/ best place to buy boxes to post?

I can’t find any at my local post offices and don’t really fancy buying a box of 10 over eBay

Thanks fellas!

10 x small boxes for £20

I use these.

Failing that buy two bats and use the boxes they arrive in to send out the ones your are selling ;-)

In terms of courier I use Hermes, tend to be the cheapest and generally pretty good, but I think some people have had bad experiences with them and prefer post office.

Hermes are fine for cheap bats but I'm currently sweating on whether they've lost £200 worth that I sold via eBay!

Happened to me once, buyer kept saying he hasn't received it but hermes tracking and call Centre confirmed that bat was delivered, do n't know how long you've been waiting for it to be delivered. 7 days are max.
