Title: Millichamp and Hall Distinction
Post by: ianbuchanan on August 09, 2010, 02:20:06 PM
Went for a visit to the M+H shop last week and saw an absolute brute of a bat, a Distinction weighing around 3lb 4-6, not 100% sure. Grains looked top notch, lovely profile and you could literally put a mug of tea on the edges!
The only thing was the price, £300. But just been on the website and seen that they have a 3lb special for £220, very tempted!

Anyone else been to the shop recently and seen the same bat? its literally right in front of you when you walk through the door, and twice the size of all the other bats......

It did weigh 2.15 with 44mm edges that are still 35mm at the toe, large oval handle and made from my own cleft, now has an extra double thickness grip and weighs 3.1 with anti scuff sheet.

Looks very nice. Guessed it was a pros because it's the same size as a normal bat :)

What do you think would be the best way to describe the profile on the M+H?
Not as in the size but more of the middle positioning and spine positioning.

It has a good balance as the middle is fairly high even though it is harder to spot due to the sheer size of it.

I collected it 2 weeks ago, I know they have some heavy willow so must be making some heavy bats to clear it, hence the price reduction. This was to make up for an earlier bat made for me being sold to a customer, that was one of my clefts too. Very impressed with the bat as all who pick it up comment on the lightness.

I went into M&H at the beginning of the season and there was a very impressive distinction was you on the end of the rack. Not sure if it would be the same one as you saw.

ah right thats a relief! the reason i ask is because your bat is identical to the one i saw last week, have you used it yet? whats the ping/pick-up etc. like?

It could be better than my current match bat, pick up is great, ping is awesome, I may not use it, sometimes it is hard to choose a bat.

What sort of profile are the harlequins these days... they used to be marvellous.

Have they gone all thick edged?
