Are some of the bats not compliant?

Looks like it's just good customer service to me, free refurb at the end of the season....

Possibly, seems a bit harsh on the CoR buyers though?

I think its got to be a bit more than just good customer service, the adherence check seems to suggest so at least . .

I believe that the extension of the blade into the handle has been subject to MCC interference, quite what the problem is I do not know, the long join merely restricts flex. It would appear that Mongoose are looking to recall or at least show willingness to correct this to comply with the MCC. I would like it if Tom could post the full reason for the MCC ruling on here as it seems very unfair for Mongoose to have to refurbish and modify several hundred bats at their own expense.

Surely the problem is the use of flattened and skinned furry mammal and not wood in the blade?

if it is for the reason that Mike is saying....does that mean that performance will be affected by introducing more flex in handle. . . . .ive got one of these mmi's

also is there a deadline for the amnesty??

Tom can you please clarify . . ??

Send your bat back and we'll refurb it. No performance changes, only cosmetic.

Will you cut the willow attached to the handle?

Tom,

Will you cut the willow attached to the handle?

I ask as I was thinking of sending mine back to you for a refurbishment.

It depends, if it was missed originally then yes.

There's nothing wrong with admitting you guys were told to do it, I think it's stupid and unfair that the change has been forced on you.

Im a little confused, what exactly is the issue here? i had an mmi3 and sold it on ebay, should i forward the receipt to the guy who bought it to enable him to qualify for this?

Forward the receipt yes and he's entitled to a free refurb

ill see if i can get in touch with him. is there now something wrong with the mmi3 that requires changes, or is this purely a free refurb offer?

Nothing needs changing on the older models, however the MCC require that every bat that leaves the factory complies with the latest version of MCC Law 6. That includes all refurbs.

So if the ears don't comply, the grips too low, the stickers come too low then it will be adjusted.

If I send mine in will I be able to buy a couple of spare grips for it?

Tom

I would be grateful if you could respond to my pm's, email and telephone calls to your offices. I would like to get my mmi3 checked to see if it complies with the MCC regulations and also take advantage of the refurb at the same time.

Thanks in advance

The amnesty ended on November 1st. Happy to check the bat over though if you so desire?

You will see from my post dated 30th September in this thread that i enquired about a deadline re the amnesty from you. Unfortunately you did not respond to that query, hence i was unaware of the deadline.

had you informed me of the deadline i would have sent it in within the stipulated deadline.

i am no trying a pull a fast one on you.

given the circumstances would you be prepared to offer the full restickering and refurb??

regards

The deadline was on the website under the amnesty page and on the large front page image. Sorry for not replying to your post, it was a genuine oversight.

sorry for not reading the website properly it was a genuine oversight too hence asking you the question.  infact i posted twice in the thread asking for a clarification.

http://www.mongoosecricket.com/about-the-bat/amnesty

can you please point out where on the attached web page does it state the deadline as you state above. i still cant see it for the life of me.

Different web page to the one previously linked to, but we'll get that taken down to avoid confusion. There was previously the Amnesty on the front page and at the top which stated the Terms. The deadline was extended twice to allow more people to send bats in at the end of the season and it ran for 3 months.

Ring me in the morning and I'll recommend somewhere to send it - but unfortunately we won't be able to do it as we have no faculties until April to refurb bats (and the offer had finished) If you can wait until April I'll do it as a favour @ cost.

Tom with all due respect. . . .i can only present things as i saw them.. . . .This is the web page i read at the time and consequently asked for clarity re deadline. Had this web page contained a deadline i wouldnt have enquired from you. i havent seen any other web pages, this is from your website. unfortunately i am not willing to pay for something which was free, had i been informed. are you willing to reconsider?

like i said. . . i am in no way trying to pull a fast one. . . but feel hard done by here.

Call me tomorrow on my mobile. It was a free offer which Mongoose paid for (stickers, refurb and carriage) per bat sent back - so there does have to be a deadline somewhere. It was kept open for as long we could and unfortunately you have missed out on for being too late - I admit I didn't reply to your email on Wednesday as I've been been out of the office and I'm willing to make concessions for the miscommunication there has been but it won't be as per the amnesty.
