right i need a few suggestions on my quest for the ultimate pad....
going to get around 4 pairs keeping just the one anybody any suggestions....
-
Newbery SPS?
hawks are cracked up to be pretty good apparently!
Ayrteks look good
Salix, always liked them! (but dont think they fit me overly well as dont do small mens size!)
those would be my 4 choices!
-
Take it your looking for traditional mate I have the ayrtek elite from this year and are are really good solid pads have a knee locator which is a first for me but apparently the top range pads have them
-
Kookaburra 1000, Newbery Sps or Salix For me.....
-
hawk i have treid 2 pairs and both top hats were crooked and slightly large
salix agree there a overpriced pads and gloves as they come
newbery had the old sps 1 the blue backed ones were very good....
as you know me i fussy with the softs...
poorest pads on the market kookaburra poor top hat
-
knee locator is key to a good fit in my opinion...
looking for maybe 2 traditional and maybe a couple of none.....
last year i tried
chase 175
kookaburra rp
bas bow
bas legend gold
itias exo
puma ballistic aus version
impala
ayrtek modern
-
U sound like gentry with all this talk of top hats!!!
U can have the pads and gloves for the package deal mate but postage to u cost more last time as ur over yonder!
-
Well the ayrtek elite 2011 ones I have would be worth a go mate as trad with knee locator and not heavy
-
yes i like your your in line tom so are willowwizzard stuff i tried a pad in aus in 08 and they were fine...
been looking at different pads i after something i have not tried yet and must stress that includes gloves might try a set of millichamp alphas as well .....
redback softs look ok anybody used any good.....
mmm toss up between the ayrtek and the ss matrix the real ones price wise i suppose the ayrtek get it i like tom gloves also
-
Got the elite or premier both the same spec in regards to protection just different looks
-
Go with ayrteks i have only seen youths version of the pads! but they were nice, i am similar in pickiness with pads and my gt's were perfect fit for me at start of season, little too small now, but moving onto the sps to give them a crack!
-
your gt for sale mate oh forgot your a lefty
-
yeah lefty mate, going at a stupidly low price too!!
Might bung them on ebay but are youths so probably wouldnt get much :(
-
I keep telling myself to get some new pads but I don't need them :(
-
Buy new pads colesy! :D some of the electric blue sort!
-
SS Plat reserve. Cant go wrong at all.
-
ooo don't tempt me!! Buying a PS3 and a few games next week so don't to spend loads!

i would rather have the ayrtek pads than the ss tom has some very interesting gloves to match
cheers golders lad might try that
-
Gloves are the best I have used mate much improved on last years which were good anyway
-
i had last seasons gloves they were slightly small for me so shifted them good quality but i like the gloves this season
-
They look to be the last ones- think they were 40 before!I have seen them in the flesh, absolutely gorgeous, bt might stop you from diving to avoid a runout, they are that nice!
-
Don't think u had the shark tooth ones tho dave just the premier ones from memory ???
-
your right mate i had a pair of the pumpsystem ones
-
Yeh thought as much....shark tooth are better than them in terms of comfort and flexibility too
-
I have a pair of GM Original Teknik Lite's if you're interested Dave? Brilliant pads. http://www.pro4sport.co.uk/cricket/shopexd.asp?id=13077

-
Never tried them myself (only in the shop) but a few of the lads at my club rave over SF softs. Must admit they do look nice, small top hat and lightweight . . . .
