Got this bat today.
This is from a very trusted source and is one from ex-Kookaburra ENG sponsored player's kit bag. (Changed sponsors about 2 months back)
Weight 2.9
Grains - 10 all sapwood
The pick-up is light and balance is very good. The mallet just flies off the middle.
This is not a shop Kookaburra and has a light beige color toe guard as opposed to the green one that is put on the shop bats

Pro, if yuo are not happy with your ABM after seeing this then send that my way bud, always there to help my friends ;) :D
-
thought he used the blade range ?
-
i was thinking that^
Still another bat from Spyder, business must be booming!
-
erm not sure Morgan uses a Kahuma, ever has - or now ever will as he is sponsorerd by Slazenger.
This is a pretty looking bat though... does it have morgan written on the Handle?
-
he was not but i suspect this one was given to another Kook sponsored player who used Kahuna and re sticked it..
I know both players in question
If i do not like mine as you have seen mine before me it will go to you
-
Amazing how people's opinions change when it suits isn't it?
:D
So some people can get bats made for pros but cannot call them that without getting a tirade from certain others, but some can take a random bat decide it is a 'pro' bat 'because someone said so' and we have to sit in awe?
-
He got this through one of the O;Brien brothers. But it from the bag of one of ther ENG players.... I think i was told EMs name.
I have seen the Kahuna profile on the internet but this is a diff profile

please explain.......
The fact is if you know the origins of these bats you too would understand there not pro in anything they just were made from with a clear history and the fact you can even trace them right to the source unlike many on here......
And if that was not aimed at me sorry
-
Pro bat or not, it doesn't look anything special. A review once used would be good.
-
yes, I will review once I use it.
But it is definitely a cut above the loads and loads of Kooks I have seen being sold in shops.
Anyway, we make the Pro bats should special. Agreed that are a bit special, but the guys using them are more special/gifted and that adds to the performance they get out of their bats....
Like I said on another thread, a pro will time a ball better with a lower quality willow than a club player with a top end bat (be it a Signature or Cenko to name a few)
-
just goes to show that looks arent everything. . . i prefer a goer to a looker. . . i mean bats of course.
-
Yeah let us know how it goes as the performance is the key to these type of bats as with my one
-
Can the Kook owners on this forum, confirm wether the profile is a Kahuna or Blade or Ice? As far as I can make out it is does not look like a Kahuna
-
not your standard kahuna, (i had a kahuna rp) it most resembles the beast to me although that could just be me
-
Did you say you thought it was Eoin Morgans' Yash? I guess other possibles would be Luke Wright and Steve Davies, if it has been stickered as a Kahuna...
-
i've knocked this bat up, its decent, nothing exceptional, but it isnt knocked in yet
-
or Yardy...he changed sponsor in the last couple of months.
-
Ohh yeah, that is a very good shout actually Nick. He used to use the CCX/Beast shape as well....
-

Yes, not knocked-in as when I tapped with a ball it left some seam marks and the person told me that I need to put some work in to get the bat performing
-
someone nicked Ponting's??
-
someone nicked Ponting's??
Could be. He's anyway not doing much with his bats and is out of the ODIs as well....

surely the outside edge would be knackered...
-
not blown away by the profile or looks in all honesty....obviously performance is key from a bat made for a professional
-
Btw? Is there a pro bat war going on? If so i will join in :)
-
So will I..... (I'm pro) ;)
-
yeh seems to be a good old my bat is better than ur bat contest going on lol
i thought we all agreed that it wasnt a pro bat unless it had been used by them ??? and as such is just a bat.....
if thats the case iv got 5 at the office as they were all touched by pro's last week!!! :D
-
Was it rejected from the 'pro' as he couldnt be arsed to knock it in?

Name Thomas...........
-
Big dave handled a few mate but was thinking more of the lads at L'boro who were having a gander ;)
bit like the boy who cried wolf and all these pro bats on here ;).....makes u wonder how the pros have any left to use themselves with every forum member having at least one in the closet! lol
-
i will be honest tom i bought mine because he said it went well and was in tune with the profile i want and the look i wanted and was within my budget..
The rest like the matchworn shirt is a bonus which i did not expect but hey...
Still my theory remains Only time it truly is a pro's bat is when it used by a pro....
hense the change forum name
-
i did wonder who this Dave bloke was ??? everyone seems to be having a identity crisis ATM lol
yeh cant knock stuff like that mate as its always nice to get a bit of memorabilia...got a few bits collecting dust somewhere!
