Title: M&H, should I get it ?
Post by: Cover_Drive on February 06, 2011, 05:47:51 PM
Again I'm with a 'to do or not to do thread' and this time I came across M&H and saw them going for a very good price and more importantly one of them it absolute beauty!!!

I have Salix, MB LE, GN Obvilion LE on its way so what do you guys suggest ? (these are 4 new bats for this season)

Your help will be highly appreciated!

Which M&H are you after?

I have seen a few Amplus and Distinctions and they are really good with great pick-up and balance.

ProDirect have them with close to 100 Pounds knocked off!

Personally I prefer low sweetspot one but the Harlequin they have is absolute stonker!

I think you should tell me where you're getting it from and which one - I will check it out and buy it myself if it's as good as you say advise you fella!  ;)

CD, despite asking several times for someone to justify the price MH charge I've not heard a good reason. Looks are generally less than most other brands. Honestly mate, it's not going to offer you anything more than the bats you have now.

CD, what about the Newbery you bought last season. Do you think you need another new bat for the season?

Here is the page which has the three M&H they have in stock, they had Distinction and Original but both were snapped my mates.

http://www.prodirectcricket.com/lists/millichamp-and-hall-cricket-bats.aspx

The bat they are sending out is the one pictured and if you zoom in at Harlequin you'll see how good it is! Grains are superb!

Opener Bhai, that is what is confusing me. I'm very confused but I think that these sort of deals won't come everyday...

Jon, have a look at the page and it has prices..the price displayed is basically what I'll pay including shipping to Canada.

i hold my hands up - though are these the actual for sale bats, or just generic product pics?

I'm pretty sure actual bat pictures because a mate bought and received Distinction and he got exactly the one pictured...

So guys what are you thoughts?

Both good looking bats. I prefer the solution. Just a note on the bats, the solution is 2-8 but the harlequin is 'medium' weight!!! So is it the actual bat?

'Medium' ranges from 2.8-2.0 lbs.

Yes, these are actual bats.

I wouldn't bother, you could get much better for the money.

Seems alot even with a hefty discount on them...either that or brands on here are selling bats far too cheaply!!

What about brands on here are pricing realistically and you are only paying for the stickers on big brands

Yes mate that may well be the scenario..maybe why alot of people armed with the knowledge of the forum no longer big brand shop ???

I wouldn't Uzair. I would save the money and use it for something more constructive, you have a lot of high-end bats already and you don't really need another I feel. If you are to get another bat, why not get a Custom Made from one of the brands on here that is likely to be on a par, or perhaps even better than an M&H. Plus, you are not 100% assured that the bat pictured will be the one you get, supposing someone orders before you and you get a bat that looks awful, then what, it would cost a lot to return or to sell on, and you would be stuck with a bat you didn't like.
Personally, I wouldn't buy it. Strongly advise against it.

Many thanks for your input guys, I appreciate it.

Johan, as I earlier said one of my mate bought Distinction and he got same one as pictured.

Actually I'd be getting it shipped to UK as I have stuff coming over so it will come altogether and ill save postage. If an awful bat comes then from UK I don't think return postage would be high, what do you reckon ?

Custom Bats, I'm really not fussed about them. I got MB LE custom made to Afridi specs and I'm happy with them so personally I get along everything :)

The biggest fear I have is that what if nothing comes as good as this in future ?

Yeah Uzair, I know your mate got the same one as pictured, but think about the repercussions as to whether someone bought the pictured bat just before you, therefore you wouldn't get the pictured one, if that is how their system works.. ???

I think they only have one, last night Majid bought Original and it was taken off there website as soon he purchased it...

Yeah, I think Alvaro is right. It is your money, and not ours. Do as you choose, but act sooner rather than later.

CD bhai the deal is only good if you need it. If you get 2 bats for 60% price but need only one you are paying 20% extra. (unless you want to sell the other one which is not the case here).
