There does not appear to be a great deal of information on the website, do they send out information like score cards etc?

So far we have had nothing not even confirmation we made the draw, only way I knew we were in it was by checking the draw

Title: Re: National Village Cup
Post by: Maverick79 on May 02, 2011, 03:29:26 PM
It was a close game in the end. We scored 205 which we thought was 20-30 short and they got off to a good start so things were looking ominous, but each time we got a wicket we seemed to get another shortly after and then they would have a partnership build and would catch up with the rate. They ended up about 20 runs short in the end but was touch and go at times. Glad to hear things are going well at the top of the order mate, looks like the change in position has worked for you.

That's always fun!

What region was you in?
Title: Re: National Village Cup
Post by: golders on May 02, 2011, 09:16:39 PM

Buckinghmashire, so Home Counties? Brickhill play 3 divs above us and we didnt embarrass ourselves- had a few players missing which was disappointing. also, by the time our entire side had turned up, they had been warming up for half an hour! at least 5 guys pitched 15 minutes late, pisses me right off!

On a side note, one of their guys was rushed to hospital- took a load of skin off his leg during warm up, and had a seriously bad reaction to an antiseptic wet wipe! His lips went blue apparantly was tad scary. they had a 12th man who fielded.

yes he went to hospital, then came back later. looked like he had had some dodgy seafood! nice chap too did my Level 2 coaching with him.

BEWARE antiseptic wetwipes!

We are still in, but likely to get knocked out by the team that beat Redders team. Speaking of the NVC when I arrived home today there was a big parcel from Wisden, it had about 30 of this months magazines in it to be given out at the game.

So glad I bought mine last week!!

It's at our place. If they are anything like their 2's then they are loud but half the time the banter is crap as it was last season!

Post by: Maverick79 on May 27, 2011, 06:29:33 PM
Yeah, the last round was close. We looked dead and buried when one of their blokes was smashing it to all parts. He hit about 70 odd of 30 balls and wen't for another six and was caught. Had he batted through they would have won

Yeah I play in that division, you guys used to be in it just two-three years ago right? Haha, their batting has never been brilliant I don't think.... and one of their main bowlers was slightly injured against us, but apart from that they weren't great :) Where is the game being played?

Just spoke to my friend who plays for bidborough cc. they won the kent section and then beat the hampshire winners yesterday. think he said they pay the winner or sussex vs hertfordshire in the next round
