Solitaire...i dont mind the heavy weight and i will get the same performance as any of the above....graphics and looks mean nothing as you let the runs do the talking and not the look of the bat

The most obvious would be screaming cat as its most expensive ;) ?

Not saying most expenisve is the best , but it would be obvious choice ! :L ( if money wasn't an issue off course)

Icon for me.  I have seen their operation in the flesh, have met their people.  I like the brand, and most of the GMs I have seen of late have looked, felt and played great.

I'll go for GM Icon Original L.E having a soft spot for GM and their products. I've used an Icon before so know what they feel like whereas the other one's I've not picked up the others (GN Legend an exception, although I did not like it too much). I know GM are good with replacing bats should anything justifiable go wrong with the bat during the season and every GM I've used has performed well.

Anything else?

Laver Reserve

Laver presses his bats as good as anybody and he has made me 1 top top class bat which has performed well Good customer services and never too much trouble..

I had a SCat it was good but nothing special and it was brand new from GCCC and in truth i find his profiles boring and a little dated and customer service is not in line with Laver

Millichamp Well i think there pressed at the same place as many others and for the money not worth it never owned one and not likely too i just have no real feel for them strange one

Gray Nicholls...About 10 years ago had a top of the range millennium saved for 5 months to buy it bought it and it was crap..

Mongoose ..I have thought about it but after i hit with them does not suit my style at all.

Salix...Same as Millichamp do not like the profiles but they can finish a very good bat...

Solitaire..Had one went well but do you think they could make me a 2lb 7oz one..........

Gunn and Moore..Not keen since my Diamond Original snapped after saving for one after seeing Hadlee use one and.

I do not like being kept waiting either and do not like faceless big companys

Personal preference but there you go...

Edward has practically talked me into getting a GM and Icon would be my bat of choice.

Although being a long time M&H fan, I would love to try the SCAT, just to see if they are all they are cracked up to be

Salix, know them inside out.

Out of that list I would choose the Solitaire. For the price of them they are well worth the money and as I live close to them I can go and get a weight reduction on the bat for free (as they did for my solitaire) if needed.

There's noway I could afford to pay £400+ for a cricket bat and paying £100 for a cricket bat will mean that I will use it for its purpose and not be worried about using it in case it breaks and wastes my money.

I'd buy this http://onlinestockist.com/SS-Limited-Edition-Grade-1-English-Willow-Cricket-Bat-P107969.aspx (http://onlinestockist.com/SS-Limited-Edition-Grade-1-English-Willow-Cricket-Bat-P107969.aspx)

Solitaire because I don't mind the weight being heavier as long as it still picks up well, its a cracking price for G1 willow, its affordable and I'm quite taken by the pink stickers

Salitaire, no way I'd pay anything like 300 for a cricket bat.

EDIT-Solitaire, not Saltire, must be missing scotland!

I'd go with a solitaire specced at 2.8. That would get me a 2.12 that went as well as any of the others, given my limitations and I'd have £200 spare. And I could always get a spot of weight taken off.

I have a rule that I will never spend more than £200 on a bat (and even with what I've obtained so far, I've remained inside that rule by quite some way, except for the Instinct), so this keeps me well within that. To be frank, if I am spending more than that, I'd want to be speccing it entirely to my satisfaction. Only the Solitaire gives me half the chance of that (even if it doesn't always come out quite like it!) and it's about 1/3 of the price of all the others!

I would love to try a Laver, just to see what all the fuss is about! Everyone on here who has ones raves about them, so I would get one too see whether they live up to the talk!

For me, if the GM had of been a Luna profile I would have probably gone with that. But sticking with that list of bats, I'd go with the mongoose. I liked the ones I saw on my trip to hunts and really fancy trying one.

Would be the laver tried the other brands and there yet to be tested

Solitaire is the only one I could afford at the moment :(
Title: Re: Which Bat?

i would get the solitaire and order it at around 2'4 so it would feel 2'9 or 2'10 when i received it

At this moment, I would go for a top range GN or GM.. Thats the only bats I have seen in real flesh.
This summer, i'm traveling to New Zealand, so if it could wait, I would go to the shop and buy one of there bats.

Solitaire is the only one I could afford at the moment :(

I'm with you on that!

None of the list particularly grab me due to being either the wrong shape or wrong price, but if I were pushed I'd go with the GM. The ones I've seen in the flesh recently seemed very nice.

Because I am a tight whotsit I would go up to the solitaire shop and pay my hundred notes and choose one - even if that meant I had to wait while some weight was taken off the bat.

I would pay around £150 give or take a bit for a bat, unless I was paying a bit extra for a special branded bat - which I would stretch to about £200 if I really had to.

Scat if it goes as well as the current one, happy with the profile and handle on it. Havant tried Salix yet but have used GM, GN, laver previously and enjoyed the experience :)

Wouldn't it be nice if you could walk into a shop & they had this list of bats for you to choose from. My choice would be the scat. Would like to get one b4 the man retires.

I'd go for the legend as I've picked one up and it felt very nice. it was massive for it's weight and had a lowish middle which I usually opt for.....

Although I'd be thinking of a SCAT when using it :)

If i had to pick one from the list then Solitaire and the reason is that the others prices are simply too high

How much was the H4L you got mate, I thought the LEs were about £235? ???
From the list probably the Laver or SCAT if I had the money, but more likely the Solitaire as it would still be a good stick :)

Gray Nicolls Legend, my favourite brand indeed hence I would gamble my pennies.
