Global Bats
« on: March 30, 2009, 07:12:22 PM »

Heard about J Millichamp and Indian made bats while in India so I've been doing some research.

Come across this company: http://www.globalbats.com/

Wondered if anyone else had heard anything?

I had heard something along these lines but I thought that it was a sourcing agreement.  Didn't imagine that the alliance ran this deep. From a pure business perspective, it makes sense - Julian's brand and experience combined with low cost but skilled labour base in India. Missing element is consistent quality control but I assume that Julian would weigh in on it and the joint venture relationship will give him greater decision rights compared to an outsourcing agreement. Not so sure about the consulting service though. Is it a turn-key offer for new companies setting up operations or enhancing quality of existing ones?

Being that Julian cancelled his entire willow order due to no sales I guess he had to do something to pays those bills. Most big brands send out their bat makers to oversee production anyway.

Julain has always chased the dollars, Puma anyone?

This article is from August/September time, so things may well have changed. Interesting anyway.

I know he's been pretty close to Ransons though since his Puma days. Maybe even before.
