Hi guys, just wanted to ask you all what type of sander is the best for sanding bats down, seen some which say sander/polisher but these are handheld, anyone know I these work or hot any good reccommendations id appreciate

you need a big drum sander mate idearly or a sanding drum to go on a motor/polisher

on a drum sander the pad behind the sand paper os foam so u can push it hard to the bat

Cheers fletch, I've seen examples of the motor with the sanding drum/polisher  attached, and it looks good. Was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction for a motor which is ideal ?

Best thing is to check on ebay. quite a few on there. im guessing you probably looking for 240v or single phase ( 2 names for household supply)

you want to keep the rpm relatively low. too high and you will remove too much wood too quickly or the work piece will burn/scorch. mines 1425 rpm.

really, i've never been able to find one on ebay.... I thought they where quite rear..

There are a few motors on there but none with the chucks already fitted. That's the hard bit

I've seen quite a few motors, but never know if the motor is ideal for what I want. Is there any specific type ?
