Carl Hooper, Mark Waugh, Lara, Graham Thorpe growing up. Now Kallis and Ian Bell.

I am so old, I've batted 1 - 10, so lots of choice and so many I have enjoyed watching but I'll pick only a few!

Hooper, M Waugh and Kallis, yes please.

I'll add Richie Richardson and Inzaman Ul Haq (both had so much time to play the ball) into the mix.

English players - Vaughan (technique) and Gooch (it must have been the moustache!)

If ever I find myself in a run chase I try and think... 'What would Michael Bevan do?'

pure class on his day
He made it look so easy. A little dab here ,a little push there and the next thing you know he has won the game .

being an opener....who else can be my favourite player other then SACHIN.....

*SACHIN DESERT STORM GOLD* Sachin Tendulkar 143 vs Australia Sharjah 1998

There's another innings against Zimbabwe where he really gave Olonga and company a bit a stick. Those were the best days of Sachin . He wasn't the same batsman post his tennis elbow injury.

Mark Waugh and Damien Martyn are pure class. I modeled my batting on Mark Waugh for a while but struggled with his high-ish/late-ish backlift against faster bowlers.

Then it was Michael Slater and adopted his trigger. I stayed with that trigger only until recently when it started messing me up.

Don't know why but I preferred Mark to Steve.

Mark was easier on the eye - a pure stroke maker, and he made it look oh so easy and stylish. Even if he got out cheaply, he looked good doing it.

Graham Thorpe - class player in an average England team. Always loved watching him bat.

Ricky Ponting - brilliant attacking player, one of the all time greats.
