I'd just play it the same as any other game.  After all, it's down to what they are capable of.  If you get out to a woman cricketer there is going to be some banter from the team mates but that's cricket!

I played my only 1st XI game at Darwen against Netherfield when Clarke opened for them. I think I did ok (it was a long time ago) but I remember him smacking me back over my head a few times. Unfortunately one of our guys dropped him off me or else he'd have been my first and only 1st XI wicket.

Really good player and I remember him being a good bloke too, think he played a lot against my Dad over the years.

Played against him at Netherfield and at Torrisholme. If he'd looked after himself he'd have been an even better player, though have to say, even when he dropped down to Palace Shield his reputation preceded him and he got nothing but respect from everyone I played with - having said that, we seem to get him out cheap everytime. He doesn't start well v spin, especially since he's not so mobile and so his footwork isn't so great these days. Last 2 times I played him we opened the bowling with an off-spinner, and got him early both times

Well we played the game yesterday and it was an amazing day. Weather was beautiful although a bit chilly. Pitch and outfield were sensational.
We batted first and the game plan was to let the younger guys (Some 14 and 15 year olds) bat up the order and if needed me and another older guy would go out there. The young guys batted pretty well albeit a bit slow. The women's bowlers were not the best and didn't really threaten at all. One of our batsman managed to score an unbeaten 127* and the other boys chipped in with 20s and 30s. I wasn't needed to bat as we made a respectable 259/4 from our 50 overs. We were pretty happy with that.
As I said they were not the best bowlers. Put a lot of balls on a length towards the end of the innings that were sent over the rope. I don't think women cricketers tend to try and clear fielders straight and this was the reason for the length.

Anyway. The started batting and we got Suzie Bates the captain and best batswoman by all accounts first ball. After that though the women took charge. We were all blown away by how good they were. Cover drives, lofted drives, 6s  :o. They were very very good. After 17 overs they were 90-1 and cruising. They batted with real purpose. Milked singles and then hit boundaries it seemed when ever they felt like it. In the end they won easily and although we had a young team we were thoroughly beaten by a better side. Full credit to the ladies they played very well.
