use some JIF or CIF i think its called now. My mother did it to my bat the night before my first ever county game .... looked brand new

I had damage like that low down on my new GM due to some cugina using a sports direct bat breaker.
A bit more knocking, watered down PVA in the crack, dowels in the edge (probably not required in your case as there's wood on both sides), a bit more knocking, tape the damage & put a new scuff sheet on.
Job done and it won't break again!
