Memory foam, elastic, cotton sheets, sewing kit, Velcro fastening.

That'd be a basic one.

This will be fun!!
PM RossViper as he has some experience of this too.

I am not sure it would be terribly hard - the difficulty will be gaining the right protective material...

Good luck

Am I the only one thinking this is a waste of time??

Just buy one mate, would be easier (and potentially cheaper).

1) HD foam / UDHD foam
2) Thin plastic sheet to protect if you are using the HD softer foam.
3) Casing (faux leather type outer and a towel type inner )
4) Straps
5) Velcro
6) Glue , I struggled to find the right one as some types of glue melt the foam.
It depends what you are trying to achieve. If it's a custom fit then you are better off buying a larger thigh pad, get the padding out ,cut it to required shape and put back into the casing.
I have adapted a couple of thigh pads to requirements being a shorty.

I enjoy these DIY threads, make me want to do something other than binge shows on Netflix and HBO GO. I learn a lot too.
