Newbery are no longer making the Thruxton. 5 innings and 298 runs later my SPS has started feeling so good that even the Black Cat has been relegated to the bench. This is a sad day.

Just got hold of a SPS, were these graded on performance, this bat is a total gun, but looks average.

Thruxton lovers, I finally understand your love for this bat! The coverage of the middle on these bats are immense, just have an SPS in currently for a repair.
Similar to a BAS profile:
I cannot believe Newbery discountinued this shape... Ridiculously large middle. It probably helps that the bat has been used quite a lot too!

The amount it has been used probably helps more than the shape

Not that many on here would know about using a bat for a prolonged period! I get the impression there's a culture of use it for a few nets and matches, then on to the next one (I know I'm have been as guilty as anyone of this!)
