That's good for you Brokenbat, Mine gained weight by 1 and half ounces in 1 year. I reside in USA too and store my bat in my office room at room temp. In fact heard lavers losing weight for 1st time.

Perhaps its best for anyone who orders to discuss this explicitly with James. This is what I did - and he told me (both times) that the bat would lose a little weight over time and then stabilize.
