Yeh ive been thinking of buying the mongoose not sure which one though

Ok, popular yep we had a hoot, but heavy you swing and it feels like it is going to dislocate your arms....  I'm going to fiddle with mine and see what I can do to sort it out a bit....

One thing though you are drawn into the big hits and defence seems to go out of window.... we found it is best start off with your normal bat, get your eye-in then change....

good news about the handle......never doubted your bat making abilities anyway! I thought this might be the case regarding defence......considering, in my part of the world anyway, that the wickets are hard at the moment and there is a fair bit of bounce i find myslef using more of the bat than i would say on a lower slower wicket - meaning the smaller 20/20 bat would be harder to use for us lesser players!

If you get your eye in with your normal bat and then play with the cut down one then you barely notice the difference you just play your normal game.  That said if you get a ball that bounces up you tend to have slog at it a-la baseball.  I must say though it was great fun peppering the out field from the nets.  I'm quite luckly as I've made one, admittedly it is different, but at the right price a fun bat to have in your bag and yep you could potentially use it in a match... I know mine is going to be in a local T20 tonight if the guy gets a run out with the bat.
