Isn't it better to just buy these off the bat manufacturers rather than buy a restickered one, if MRF isn't adding any major value in the manufacturing process chain?
MRF is a white label brand. Professional players get plain bats from their preferred bat makers and sticker it up as MRF. I think they just get some bats made by someone to satisfy the ICC rules - "in order to sponsor a player with bats, the manufacturer should be selling similar bats in the market". This is why you would notice brands like Nike & Reebok were also flooding the market with bats when they were sponsoring some players. They seem to have vanished from the store shelfs now.
If i am not mistaken Kohli and Dhawan get their bats made by SS (custom profile) and label it as MRF. If you scroll through old pictures you can see Sachin Tendulkar's MRF bats with a SS logo or BAS logo on the edges of the bat. Gautam Ghambir was using a MRF bat and in one of the IPL matches i noticed SG logo on the bat edges.
