I went to watch Worcestershire v Notts this summer on a Friday and there was roughly 1500-2000 in the ground. Hospitality was pretty full as well. I was very surprised.

You'll have seen some quality cricketers too.

Way too many counties and too many journeymen about

For me needs halving down to about 10 or so and make the best fight it out

Won't happen as any change needs the county chairmen approval and turkeys very rarely vote for Christmas

Yes, it was a good day. Worcester dominated for some periods but notts bowled well at times. 280 ao v 70-2 was the end of day score.

I don't think picking a totally amatuer side would produce the same quality of cricket or crowds.

1. Like a day at the Test match. Only £80 cheaper.

2. Of course not.

I personally think northants and Leicestershire ought to consider merging, selling up grounds and reinvest in a new facility. Both are failing counties as regarding finances and to some extent on the pitch.

I shall never forget David Murphy's elation at getting his maiden championship ton for Nothants at The Oval. It felt so real.

What can I remember about this year's IPL? Not much.
