Sounds like it is their loss tommo! I wouldn't let it bother you, we struggle badly for people to put time in at the club. I hope it works out for you in the move, I've never not wished anyone well who has left. Can't see what that achieves really.

Move on buddy. I moved from my old club after 25 seasons, at my third and even went back to the old club for their 50th season, but it was like going back with a ex. All points above are relevant.

You can't change other people and if you're not happy you can only control your own space. No point swallowing other people's poison and expecting them to die. If you  only keep hurting yourself, you need to let it go. Tough to do, but there are plenty of clubs who need and appreciate players. No point staying at the ones that don't because you play for the game first if you love cricket and that's why the politics and cronyism in some clubs is frustrating.

I moved clubs about 4 years ago now and I don't regret a thing. Things were going downhill slowly (still are) and it's not unusual for them to turn out 4 or 5 times a season with a threadbare team.

I'm still friends with a lot of them, although one or two at the time called me a 'rat jumping from a sinking ship'....those times have thankfully passed and I'm on speaking terms with 95% of them. I still play indoor cricket with them every winter, and I still turn out occasionally with them on a Sunday for their social side.

My Saturday team though are a fantastic bunch, just a shame there's only 2 divisions in our league (our firsts in Div 1, our seconds in Div 2) which means nothing but pride (and cups) to play for most seasons. I don't mind though - because it's such a laugh turning out with them every week.

Don't look back - take the leap - I'm sure you'll enjoy the fresh challenge.

I personally think your reasons are justified!

Too much political crap going on...if you aren't happy then try somewhere new :)
