Only the forum could offer such debate, does a sheet that 0.2mm thick effect the fact that I may hit a 6 or not?

Well, the other day I went for a six, and the ball lobbed up to edge of the inner circle. Clearly, the sheet is to blame - robbed me of an 80m six

Are these questions serious?  ???

So what is the problem with these cheap eBay anti scuff sheets? They affect performance? Difficult to apply/remove? Also does anyone know whether these sheet affects the sound you hear of a cricket bat? Would hate to have spent so much money on a H4L only for a dull sound of the bat due to a scuff.

Cheap eBay sheets don't stick very well, get damaged on impact with a ball and leave unholy amounts of residue when you remove them. Buy cheap, buy twice.

As for affecting the sound, it's the same as performance. You're putting a 0.2 mm sheet on there, it will not make a noticable difference!

There has to be a reason why the pros don't put these sheets on their bats

Most pros do use a sheet of some description, and a lot of them like fibreglass ones.

Look at it like the same principle as waxing your car, it's a thin additional layer that will protect it but won't make it any slower to drive.

Tried both ols sheets, and get padded ups sheets.. Both cracked on impact and left residue..

Which is why it's worth buying a decent quality version if you are going to use one. £6-£7 a season to protect your bat is quite a small price to pay when you think about it given the price of bats nowadays!

I can recommend the H4L sheets. £6.99 a sheet from IJC. Very clear and standing up very well in the nets so far.
