Yes, instead of taking Leg and stepping across I'm now taking middle.
Without the half step I'm now keeping my feet still, and more importantly - in line!
As in the video Buzz posted, I'm now in a better position to strike the ball, and I'm no longer playing around my front leg if anything is on my pads.
Ironically, playing off my pads is something that's always been something of a strength, so the fact my trigger was limiting some shots off my legs has amused me slightly. Now my trigger is gone balls on my legs are guaranteed runs, anything on the stumps or outside off may be a struggle for me though...
If this has helped you great....perhaps we should of had some mini batting observation at Dummer or Eversley nets to see.
I just can't see see how this does anything else other than screw up offside shots.i play around the front pad too, it a weakness and has been for years. To get the bat coming thru straight I've opened the left shoulder and moved the back foot across(a lot, now a bit less) this means you back foot is more in line playing offside shots.
If your back foot is still and you move your front foot only to the ball (a drive) you are not In the right position to play offside-if the ball comes back in your across the ball from the start.
If it works for you great, we are all different, I'm just trying to get my head round it because I've always had this across the front pad problem.
If the back foot goes across that helps the left shoulder open so you are not falling over into the shot
Make sense?
Ps I am not a troll. Haha
