I'm sorry being the third highest wicket takes in div 1 and being on the EPP scheme over the winter being a random choice?

Wasn't lyth top run scorer or close the other year?? Didn't end well.. Leave young lads to learn how to play red ball, don't be like football and get all hyper active over them straight away

no Rossington?! swear everytime i check, that lad scores runs...

Would be funny if you were one of the ones who said Ben Duckett should keep wicket.

As usual, a lot of shouting of names of people about whom we know very little. Why do blokes feel the need to pretend they know so much more than they do?

Jake Ball will at least play limited overs stuff this year.

With bowlers it's better to pick them when they're raw. Then they either adapt and get better, get injured or are simply poo.

Because it provokes irascible old curmudgeons like you to moan about it, and tell us all how it is  :D

That's why he'd be in the possibles team... To see how he'd fare against a test team. Was that not the whole point of the possibles vs probables game?

Willey can't even get in the Yorkshire 4 day side so, in the nicest possible way, I hope he isn't in contention for a Test call up

He's being rotated with Sidebottom this season (will get more games now Sidebottom is injured).  He'll take hie chance and will be an England player in a couple of years.

Lyth has talent, he struggled against a top bowling line up, along with a number of other players.  He's a great slip fielder and can bowl a bit too. He will be back in the selection mix either this summer or next.  No-one has really set the world alight, even the mighty Joe Root could only average 38 opening the batting (but against a top bowling line-up).

I'm surprised how many are picking Lees, who's been in a run of bad form since the middle/end of last season.

Ironically, if I'd be happy if I thought that was the reason.

I would like to think Jake Ball would be in the possibles team
Didn't some people say I was talking rubbish when I posted this?
Look how that turned out, a "mediocre" county pro made the England squad!
