In an ideal world I'd have two identical bats that I loved and then maybe a bigger one for T20, purely because I slog in T20 so want mis-hits to go for 6 if possible.

I suppose the problem with paying for your bats is that you don't often buy two at the same time in case they are not that great. Or do some of you do that?

2 bats myself 1 match 1 spare incase it breaks due to having different spec to most i.e. long blade etc

Used to have 5-6 but never used them so down to 2 now

great thread
I take 2 bats to each game and have my wet weather one in the car usually - one with a lower middle and one with a higher middle
my theory is that I will see how the pitch is playing like (bat 3 or 4) so Il pick the correct bat for the job
however I always end up using the same one lol

I have 5 bats in my collection I think that I have the most at my club but there could be other "bat badgers" hidden within the club lol

My ace match bat has delaminated and showing all signs of performance degradation - over 4 seasons old and seen a lot of action. I have some very good bats awaiting action. Hopefully, I won't lose any time during the season waiting for a decent bat.

I generally carry two bats with me. Lower grade (G3/G4/Butterfly) bat for practice and wet pitches. Higher grade (G1) bat for personal use. Most of my 40over team members tend to have their own kit, but 20over team is notorious. People use others bat during practice, break the bat and silently leave it on the side and escape from the nets. By the time the bat owner finds the bat, everyone would escape from there and leave the owner to fume over his broken stuff. For this reason i keep my G1 bat inside the car and carry it only for matches. For practice i prefer to use butterfly bat.

Two bats to each game, B3 3stripe for me, and B3 butterfly for spare/team mate/wet conditions - identical shapes.

Leant the butterfly out two weeks ago - only to see it spinning in the air when team mate got run out!

Don't think I will be lending one out any time soon.

2 other bats in reserve, 2 retired bats (presents that I'd like to keep) and a Bradman replica from L&W

4 bats for each game. B3 Shan masood, B3 3 stripes Mullantor, B3 2 stripes custom. These bats I use frequently but I also carry a bat that I am knocking in. I can't knock bats in my house, my wife hates it. I try to knock my bat as I am in the ground.

@velvetsky01 yes I am one of them. Sadly we don't have dressing rooms in grounds here so I am always knocking them during inning break or after I get out.
