Keeley Bat experiance
« on: August 01, 2021, 06:08:45 PM »

Have had some nice bats in my time (still only 26) Redback, MH, BB, but this year (March) sent my broken BB off to Keeley to have a copy made hopefully a little fuller for the same weight. Phone service/help was good and bat arrived early April. Before they would send they required payment, I stressed I had paid before the manufacturing process started but would pay again to get the bat sent out asap and send details so one payment could be refunded.

Bat Arrived, as promised an exact copy (believe they make BB anyway ?) and a little fuller for same weight.
The hype was true, ball flew off the blade, what a lovely piece of wood. didnt request a looker but it was ok too.

However 300 runs and 9 weeks after recieving the bat a large crack appeared from toe up the bat around 6-8 inches long.

Again phone service was good and on reciept of pictures of the bat I was reassurred it was an easy fix and approx 2 weeks.
This would be only a minor problem and I could scrounge a bat for 2 matches, actually found a belter hitting 139 from 169 run chase in T18 lol, although the pick up and shape isnt to my liking.

To cut the story short the bat has now been with Keeley entering its 7th week only 2 short of how long it was in my kit bag. Plus the extra payment hasnt been refunded even though I have produced dates, account details etc.

Keeley state ill health for the delay.
Has anyone else experianced problems with them of later as I got the opinion they were up there with the best ?

Wish I could hit 139 out of 169 with a bat that wasn't to my liking!

Unfortunately as you mention ill health has had a knock on effect on lead times. We put in an order for stock in April/May and haven't had anything yet. Unfortunately there is very little that can be done.

I think sometimes we can over think things and with litte expectations and a good blade "I saw it like a football " and hogged the bowling lol

The bat cannot possibly have been the wrong shape!

It probably would have been 160 from 169 if it was the right shape...

I sent away my pro bat to have some weight taken off and that was completed within a week.   I have a mobile number for them if you haven't already got it?

I have experienced the “we have no record of your payment” thing from Keeley too.

I contacted Keeley via Instagram in February and the lady there got back to me ans gave me a number to discuss an order. I bought an academy sized bat for my son which is an absolute belter. I then kept trying the number to order another bat around June time but had no luck. I managed to order via Instagram and the bat had arrived but needed the handle thinning which I sent back a few weeks ago but had no response back yet around delivery.

They are a very small family business so maybe don't have the staff to manage the front office stuff too well. I'm sure they will get back to you. Would be good if there was a number to reach them on but assume they would then be just be inundated with phone calls.

If you’re happy charging £650 for a bat, I suggest it’s reasonable that you have a level of customer service to match that premium.
