I didnt watch a cricket match or even know of cricket until I was 16. The Ireland v Pakistan match got me watching cricket

1st day of the Ashes 2005. July 21st if I remember correctly was the first day I became interested but had watched the West indies tests on tele the year before.

Never looked back since.

Pakistan winning the World Cup 1992, under Imran Khan, wanted to play cricket since then

Plus watching Waqar Younis playing for Surrey in the early 90's got me wanting to bowl fast

Didn't last long after tearing a muscle in my shoulder playing footy at school

So concentrated on my batting and slip fielding

Just love the social aspect and the new sledges lol

Through mt dad played for his village side + did the ground on friday nights so always went with him + weekend taking packed lunch to games + playing with other kids from other players started filling in when teams were short from age 11.

My iconic moment dads village saturday skipper told me I shouldn't be out there batting @ 4 (I was 15)in midweek game (15 8ball overs) proceded to hit 40 odd at a eeasonable rate while he got about 30 not very quickly.

Lucky I had already moved on to play town cricket at weekends

my dad took me to games since i was like 4. moved from slough to wakefield when i was 6 dad found a new club. went there started playing at 8 i think. played there ever since!

The love of Sitting down & Getting drunk got me into Cricket. I used to go with my mates to watch Gloucester when they kept getting in the finals at lords. Also watching England at edgebaston every year followed by a night out.
Best shot I've ever seen live was pietersons reverse sweep I think its was for 6 against muralitharan. It landed about 2 rows in front of us.
Started playing in 2005-6 and bought all kp's kit.

I started playing cricket about 7 years ago in 2004, however I wasn't really interested in it as I was only play soft ball at the time.

Then I watched the Ashes in 2005 and I got hooked, and I have been playing Cricket ever since.
