This in my eyes is classic england fan. We lose two games and we all start saying how we should completely change the line-up, give them a chance. This series was always going to massively tough, give the people in possession of the places a real go.

I think its a disgrace calling Patel a traitor. As a British born Indian I respect that a fellow Indian has been given the opportunity to represent his place of birth regardless of race.

I dont think the inclusion of 2 spinners will bother the Indian batting the slightest. Swann, the best spinner in the world, has proved inaffective, so another spinner will just be milked for runs too.  England need to have a plan for their batting.

I think Bell has undergone the biggest improvement in the current era.

For about 5 years he was a jittery, open stanced hack, particularly hopeless out here in Australia...... But now he is in great touch. Totally improved player than in years past!

I still wouldn't have Cook in the ODI side at all. His game is simple and effective in test cricket, the last thing you want is for him to redevelop his little lean over his pad or half-step drive to the slips that we used to see.

1. I wouldn't give Jonny the gloves yet - he's a passable keeper, but nowhere near international standard.

2. Spin - why on earth do they not go for Rashid?  One of the top five fielders in England, a genuine batsman with excellent temprament and a decent leg spinner!

Totally agree with your first point but as much as I'd like to see Rashid playing (I'm a fellow leggie myself!) he hasn't had a good year at all, with either bat or ball.
