Hook it up to a Hoover that’s better than nothing,,,, but please do your lungs a favour and upgrade when you can.
Most building sites now specify m class extraction for a reason
Any particular recommendations?

Room is slowly coming along. Will stick up some pics at some point.

Next stop is a bench (plan to built one into the wall) and a vice. Will just a regular heavyweight(ish) metalworking vice with some magnetic soft jaws do the job?

Only photo I have so far, used all out left over hardwood flooring. Have gotten the walls up now.

Yep just a solid standard vice (6in+) then either add soft jaws or replace the jaws with some wood inserts. Depending on your workspace then a vice that pivots can make life a lot easier. If you get soft jaws then I'd recommend getting fibre ones - the rubber ones are still tough enough to mark up willow.
