Hi guys New to the forums but have been reading as much as i can on here to learn. Currently going to start to try make some Cricket bats when i finish work just for a hobby. The thing is Im going to be making bats with all types of different woods. I Play alot more Indoor cricket then out door so the bats don't need to be as strong as a english willow bat. i just want to learn the craft first then eventually make myself a ew bat.
So my question to everyone on this forum is do you have any tree types you think could possibly make a good cricket bat for say just muck around. I am from Australia as well. I was watching a review on Cricketstoreonline and he does one on a eucalyptus willow bat, and it seems to ping well and hold up. So this weekend i am off to The dump to hopefully find some old cricket bats to rip the handles off so i can use them. Will keep you guys posted with pictures aswell.
