Spartan MP LE
« on: March 05, 2014, 12:34:07 PM »

Hi,

Question mainly for the retailers on here but anyone may be able to help.

I have just purchased these pads https://www.owzat-cricket.co.uk/acatalog/2014_Spartan_Matt_Prior_MP_LE_Batting_Pads.html and received them today the reason for purchase was that I liked the plain white look with only one logo on the pads.

I have received the goods today and they have come with several logos on the pads and not same as in the photographs.

The retailers stocking Spartan are all using the same images with one logo on the pads but are any retailers actually selling a pad like this or are they all covered in logos? If so it is poor advertising as it is a product they do not have.

Thanks

Yeah the MC ones are pictured like that don't understand why all the retailers have images of a product they do not have.

Distance selling regs means you can return them due to not being as advertised. Doesn't it?

If so I'd send them back and kick up a big fuss.

There's a weird thing going on with Spartan softs - I've ordered the MC Ltd Edition gloves (sausage finger) on two occasions and been sent the MC 1000 gloves (split finger).

On both occasions I've; a) requested - and got - a full refund including return postage and b) requested that they update their website with the correct images.  On both occasions the companies have not.

I would kick up a big fuss, definitely insist on them paying return postage costs and possibly also contact Spartan who I assume are providing the stock images...

When I was in Romida Brighouse the MP LE pads only had the one logo as per most website pictures mate, perhaps they might be your best bet?

Thanks for that mate have returned mine today so will shop around for another pair if some shops do indeed have the correct ones, it's strange that all retailers have been provided with the stock images if the stock doesn't match.

Final products often don't match up to the photos. Photos are usually taken at an early stage to allow time for editing and for catalogues to be printed etc. So the products photographed are usually samples.

The Kookaburra Bubble stock photo used on websites and in their catalogue is of a bat with different stickers. I had and sold the bat in question, but all other Bubbles are technically being mis-sold. Not that it is a massive issue or anything, but the product does look different to the one advertised.

The imagery of GN1000 Duffle Bags is vastly different to the product, as the images were taken of what i assume was a sample, the bag has changed quite a lot since then.

This is why if you want something specific, it is always best to come into the retailer and look at it yourself. Our softs and gloves are out on display in a manner that allows you to pick them up and inspect them, try them on if you like.

If visiting a shop isn't possible, contact a retailer (like those of us on the forum) who is actually willing/able to respond with personal input on a specific product. The big boys like Owzat cricket don't have the time or feel the need to respond to enquiries like this (based on my shopping experience from before i got into the industry)

Check the 2013 catalogue on their website as well just to be certain that you haven't been sent last years pads in error - the logo on the back of the pad above the knee roll will give you a good idea if this is the case!

Hi,

Thanks for the replies the MP range isn't in the catalogue for last year so I assume they are this years pads. It would make sense what Vitas said with regards to the images being taken before final product however it's odd that the pads pictured online have been seen in some retailers stores.
