Also think that the grading of willow based on what's available at the time is wrong.

I don't think there is any issue with it, its all relative isnt it. if the quality of willow is falling then the grades have to come down with it or grade 1 will become completely redundant.

The problem is though as we are aware the bat buying  public are then still paying top Money for grades of willow which were previously higher which means only the customer loses the retailers etc keep there profit margins a better system would be to have regulated quality grading standards and if willow or finished bats do not meet the standard then they  should be graded priced and sold accordingly.

Half agree with this, I feel the prices should come down if the quality of willow is diminishing but retailers still have to make ther money so it all rest on the willow merchant and the price of the raw cleft
