A problem with hot teas after a game is the varied time that some games can finish. Nothing more frustrating than chasing someone up to get the curry on!

Like a few others on here,  in our league the home team puts on a spread
Luckily we all see it as a bit of pride by putting on a decent spread for the guests.
Last season because a game was postponed the other team used our kitchen for the second match.

For teas we also cook hamburgers. The idea is that it's cheap for what it is and also the oppo can't move after eating them. Problem is, they look so good we have them as well.

We do it on a rota system. That also goes for tea after training for lads who come straight to the club after work. I normally make sausages and bacon swimming in baked beans with a few spices and tabsco thrown in with Turkish bread. A proper man meal methinks.

No teas, what is the world coming to !  Traditionally my main meal of a Saturday (when I play).  Hopefully, we bowl first, so I can gorge on decent tea.

Nothing more disappointing than a poor tea though.

I would retire if there was no teas.

I'd be quite happy if it took down my match fee, 99% of the time it's just a spread that's similar to being at children's party. Eurgh.

During tea I'll just sit in the dressing room and focus on the next session, because I like winning so much.

I think I'd bat better chasing without teas, one because I wouldn't have stuffed myself with naff sarnies and cake and two I'd hit the ball 3 x as hard due to the inexplicable rage coursing through my veins due to the lack of teas.

playing devils advocate here and keeping my personal views out of it(no tea-no comment) but if it was scrapped would the game be more attractive to youngsters?
maybe they would prefer post match cokes and hamburgers or whatever

most of the time when we have youngsters in the team sat or sundays they give the tea a right hammering so it looks to me like they like it.

tea break on Saturday league for us is only 20 mins thou which I have to say is rubbish, if your opening you got enough time to have half a tetleys and then get padded up plus a fag/vape/pint.

If every club tried put on a good spread there wouldnt even be an argument. The tea lady at my previous club tried to make £15+ profot from teas, jesus it was garbage!

Can be done with the right use of rice/pasta/salad/veg/bread/fruit. However, most people are too lazy to do it all by hand and want a prepacked solution - and it costs!

Unfortunately the team used to dread the "tesco everyday value 24pk of crisps coming out" as you sat down..

Sounds like a good tea!

Aldi is the best for taste selection and price. I think i even added chicken wings and for well under £45 thats with my own lunch added to it. I find quantity is usually better for teas unless you have bog standad soggy/stale sandwiches. Which i avoid by doing "make your own you lazy (No Swearing Please)" sandwiches
