Our league wouldn't allow it, it was tried a few years ago and they said no. The argument they gave against it was if it rained on the Saturday and all the games were off but play was possible on the Sunday it would not be fair and 'damage the integrity of the competition'

In most Saturday  leagues both teams have to ask there  league if they can move a fixture.                                                        I think if your team gets on okay with these guys why not accommodate  there request unless it causes to much disruption  for your club and team members.

This reminds me of when my club had a simular request the league would not allow the club to change  to a Sunday   so the opposition rang up on the Thursday before match day and said they could not raise a side leaving us without a match that weekend.

No what I am suggesting is that as amateurs we can arrange whatever we like in our spare time. However to ask the league to change the fixture due to other commitments is not on.

In your own words. They aren't pro's who require certain days of rest before their next game etc.

If they choose to have the stag do on the day before the game. Then they play the game.

It is absolute nonsense asking for it to be changed to suit their needs. What about the needs of the other team? Perhaps only 4 of the team can play Sunday cricket due to other commitments is that fair on the other team? I would say definitely not.

Lot off people getting there nickers in a twist here.

Just because a team asks if you can change a fixture, doesn't mean you automatically have to say yes!!

If you can change it and it doesn't hinder your team, then say yes.

If your availability for Sunday is poor, then just say no. It's that simple.
