Well I'm 5'7 so a harrow feels quite nice in the hands, sometimes a SH can feel a little long. With the handle, I find my hands tend to slide up the handle with SH and I'm hoping an SSH will keep them in the middle. I don't have big hands anyway so SSH is fine. I think those 2 tweaks are probably 2oz off the weight max.

This is very smart! Lot of short guys use bats that are too long for them. I have and sometimes still do use my size 6 with good effect.

It was an exceptional cleft considering its size. The dimensions are pretty much on the limit once pressed but able to get it to work. The reduction in size helps but as Nick said it would have been a max of 2oz really in this cleft.

I may have some others(would need to check). I know I have a couple of lightish clefts but unsure if they have the size to meet this. I may struggle to keep these dimensions but a few minor tweaks in terms of size or some very minor concaving would help.

Glad I have exceeded your expectations Nick,  Always nice to get feedback like this.

If anyone has any specific weights they would want something like this made in then please let me know and I'll have a check of the clefts. I may not be able to replicate exactly depending on weight but can tweak the shape to suit the weight and size of bat. This in 2.8 may need a few mm off the edges and spine or maybe a touch of concaving to make it worth but would still be a pretty big bat.

Do you have any more of these exceptional clefts? 2-11-2-12 fully dressed?

I had the same problem with hands sliding it has been cured by using a GN control grip on the top half of the handle the rings At the top of the grip prevent your hands sliding up the handle. Always have a SSH thinner handle on my bats due to small hands and a 1 inch shorter blade find that at 5 foot six tall it he bats  easier to control and You can get a full swing without the toe hitting the ground.

I was contemplating getting a ssh or a narrow but chickened out in case it adversely affected my game ( it's already adverse as it is) but this looks stunning. I understand about having a smaller handle as I picked up a gn not long ago up which had a thin handle and it felt comfortable.

Will definitely give this a try

Not sure I have anything in x3 that would do it but possibly something in another grade. I know I don't have anything quite this good but may have something close which would require a minor tweak here and there

Well you certainly seem to know what you are on about. You see enough from the dr so guess you have a decent eye for things.

That is a hell of a blade! What would a regular SH with similar specs weigh @Red Ink Cricket ?

This was a very light cleft. If I was to find something similar ( unlikely but you never know) it would probably be about 1-1.5oz heavier. To do this in a average weight cleft it would probably weigh 4+ oz heavier. Purely a guess though, difficult to tell unless you base it on a specific cleft/ starting weight

Just a quick update. Had my first net with this last night using cricket balls. Facing some general spin and trundle. Was very impressed with the width of the sweet spot, I didn't appear to mistime many which I take as a good sign. Also means it's knocked in with very few dead spots and no cracks post nets.

I changed grips to a chevron double thickness at the bottom and the bat now comes in at 2'9.7 . Felt good in the hands and easy to swing.

Glad it's coming along nicely. Just warming up ready to terrorise some early season bowling! Enjoy using it.
