Size 6 Bats
« on: August 25, 2016, 03:06:51 AM »

In "1 inch Longer 1 inch shorter" thread, we discussed size-6 bats (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=39828.msg631684#msg631684).

Here are some pictures of the my bats and specs that I can remember. :D

This is my MG-2 size-6 bat with a size-3 blade (6-3) in comparison to my match bat and other SH bats:

The MG-2 6-3 weighs about 2-8 or 2-9. In comparison, my CA match bat weights 2-12.3.

In this picture, you will see the difference between shoulders and handles of the SH bats v/s 6-3 bat:

Blade length difference:

Here is another 6-3, a L&W Reserve in 3-0.2 lb weight:

The ping on the Laver is incredible!

Some 6-3s with an SH CA:

From top to bottom: CA-SM 18 (2-12.3), L&W Private Bin (6-3 configuration, 2-9 lb), MG-2 Rhino (6-3 configuration, 2-8/2-9 lb), L&W Reserve (6-3 configuration, 3-0.2 lb). The Private Bin is supposed to be a "net" bat but it turned out better than some G-1 bats from other bats makers!

In a match situation, I'd take any of the bats pictured here. I am leary about timing so these bats don't see as much action as I'd like to - I just stick with my trusty match bat (CA). If I play a T-20 this season, one of these Lavers is coming out of the closet. :D

@InternalTraining, how much did these smaller bats cost, if you don't mind my asking? Widthwise, are these similar to the full sized bats?

So does 6-3 mean it's a size 3 blade with an extra long handle to make the overall length that of a size 6?

Standard prices and width is the same as an SH bat.

Yes, that is the idea.
