my dads a joiner for trade but works offshore and he would have all this equipmwnt i think

is bats easy enough to make cause i really do fancy having a crack at 1

thanks h4l, i may have an order for you in the near future. my half term starts in a weeks time and im hoping to get a bat done then.

thanks gj, i didnt realise a rasp was a rasp FILE if that makes sense. my dad has tonnes of them so that should be o.k.

Thanks, what tool that you used gets the most of wood off the bat? What do you use for shaping the back and spine?

 i mainly use a drawknife for shaping the  handle and pulling weight from the back ,its not an easy tool to master , and it must razor sharp.

Plane (takes me ages but it's ok, just takes a bit of adjusting until you find a correct angle on the blade)
