Which Tools

Hi all,
Im thinking of trying to make a cricket bat and have had a look onhere for neccessary tools etc.
Im just wondering about the quality of tools i need. Would these be o.k

my dad reckons he has a drawknife somewhere and i have an electric sharpener. Is that about all i need? Also does anyone have a travisher they could sell? i havent been able to find any cheapish ones. do i really need one?

You will need very coarse sand paper for the shoulders, i have found as my drawknife and spokeshave skills are very basic!

What i have used..plane,spokeshave and rasp..sandpaper and a study workbench is vital!
check out my post on it all, but i am no way an expert

thanks, i forgot to mention sandpaper, my dads got loads of it. he was into woodwork a while ago cos he got a lathe for free. now his tools will be mine :) yeh got a workbench fixed to wall above garage. what would the rasp be for? ill be starting off with part mades btw.

Yeah.. although i got a b&d workbench for about £70 and i put about 6 bricks on the footrest and that seems to do the trick

Rasp file would be for the handle, i find them easy to use and quite easy to get an oval shape on the handle.
You would do very well to get a travisher at a very cheap price. Try G and M tools though. They do one for about £40 i think.
I dont think the plane would be suitable. Have a look at Stanley planes on ebay. Or generally they're easy to pick up at a local market. Got mine for a fiver and works a treat!
